It's Ons for me. Been following her since that quarterfinal in Australia and it's been a steady rise since then, heartbreak after heartbreak in finals, I still have faith she'll get there. Previously Sakkari was ahead of Ons in my list of favourite players, but it has been *so* hard to watch her this year

snoopac

The only way Ons is winning a final if she is playing against someone who is even more nervous than her which is unlikely because someone like that won’t make it so far in a major.

binsonfiremiss

*Manifesting a Sakkari-Jabeur final*

De_Bananalove

>but it has been so hard to watch her this year Half the year tbf, she started this year firing then crashed post IW Final loss

Psychological_Bug676

Sakkari should try to win another title first and I’m saying this as her fan 😭

jsnoodles

Girl more 250s in shitty tournaments no one goes to please.

Psychological_Bug676

She’ll still somehow find a way to lose to Kiki Mladenovic in R2 😭

curlyhairedyani

It’s rough out there fr

Ok-Bike4412

Pliskova. She's been close numerous times and her window is closing

estoops

Ons and Coco for sure. Though I have no doubt Coco will get one eventually, and 28 isn’t nearly as old as it used to be in tennis so I’m hoping Ons has her chances again too. Wimbledon may be her best shot, I feel like most girls (and men), including Iga, are not very comfortable on grass and she has a good game for it.

nicoc9

Sakkari is never winning a slam, Sorry. I think Ons will win 1, at best. Coco will have many chances. So my vote goes to Ons. (Already 28). Edit: neither is Badosa winning a slam.

sendcheese247

I don't think you can look at the WTA and say "X is never winning a slam"

thfcspurs88

I could see Badosa winning one but agreed with Sakkari, that's just not happening.

armandocalvinisius

Lets sort it out with player that consistent + have 10+ titles first Its either pliskova (age already catching up, another #1 that slamless?) or sabalenka (sometimes we forget that she's younger than all players you listed aside coco)

mj257cherub

I'm rooting for Karolina too

First-Radish727

Keys. She is such a good soul. Pegula would be a great story of perseverance. Of top players, Gauff

Agree with Coco, Pegula and Leylah!

I do really like Madison Keys as well. I guess I feel Jessica and Coco are closer and more likely. But that wasn’t the question 😀. If it’s just who we would root for I wouldn’t root against Madison winning, it would be an exciting run

drextine

I would love to see Ons and Coco win! Not sure about Sakkari or Badosa, though. They haven't been playing great lately

The_Entheogenist

Danielle Collins.

TheSpadeWizard

Fernandez and Anisimova: Fernandez, I'm just a massive fan and think she will win multiple slams and she already got close at the Open, and then Anisimova I'm a fan of hers as well but mainly I just think it would give her a lot of needed confidence and also I feel she'd prove some people wrong about her strength and capability of winning Slams

Thunder_Volty

1. Ons 2. Fernandez 3. And maybe Pliskova, because her window is closing.

verismonopoly

Leylah Fernandez for sure. I love her never-say-die attitude. Also Jeļena Ostapen... oh wait, she's already a Grand Slam Champion 😎

Koeienvanger

Sorana Cîrstea It's not going to happen, but it would be cool I suppose.

strikershiv95

I'd like Danielle Collins to get one, her backhand is 🔥.

thfcspurs88

Danielle Collins

Flimsy-Piglet-5263

I am rooting for Ons to win wimbledon or us open. She can. She needs to come out strong right from the first set just like Iga did last night. Started out strong and took the first set in 30 minutes.

[deleted]

Sakkari, nope she's way too inconsistent. Badosa, incapable of staying focused during big matches. Coco, she has too many off court distractions. Jabeur, yes she's worked hard this year hopefully the draw favours her path to the final at AO. For me my personal pick would be Caroline Garcia, she's worked hard this year after 2 years of mental/confidence issues, she deserves a slam.

dougars

Tomljanovic Keys Sakkari Sabalenka Gauff Garcia

Adept_Tomato_7752

Ons because historical landmark

homesicalien

Leylah of those with chances. Cornet and Kasatkina of those who probably won't.

p2dan

Madison keys, ons, pliskova, sabalenka, zhang, Garcia. All worthy of a title. Coco gauff is pretty much a guaranteed slam winner, so I don’t count her.

chespiotta

Leylah Fernandez or Badosa

dmgirl101

Ons!

Miss_Medussa

Ons especially after seeing here post match yesterday..fuck 😢😭

AleroRatking

I'd like Pegula to get one. Easily the tennis player closest to me locally so it would be cool for a NYer outside the city to win it all.

aceh40

On the women side - Jabeur, absolutely. Ahe has a great game. On the men side - Raonic (wishful thinking at this point), Sinner (will happen someday), Alcaraz (will happen in a few hours).

sendcheese247

If Carlitos loses the final it's on you buddy.

aceh40

What can i say? I like to go out on a limb.

PinkPanda1306

Assuming this is just singles, Sabalenka - I know she has 2 doubles slams already!

themang0

Ons gonna lose the Australian open final, BUT win the French, leggooooo 🥲

Schmolik64

Coco and Tiafoe. USA!

curlyhairedyani

Literally the four you mentioned just have Coco at 2nd preference

domithiemsass

raducanu except her 2nd one

KingInTheNorth57

Emma won one…

domithiemsass

i said 2nd one

KingInTheNorth57

You edited. 😁

domithiemsass

nah

domithiemsass

cuz she’s hot

ETeezey1286

With the exception of Ons the ones mentioned all seem to crumble in slams even if they make the latter stages.

libbiecy

Kasatkina, Badosa, Ons, and Kontaveit.

drextine

I was actually wondering if someone would mention Kontaveit!

libbiecy

I root for the nice girls and guys and she's definitely on my list 💖

FreeTourist

I really hope Sakkara gets one

Annjul666

Would love for Maria to win a slam but honestly I don't see that happening... Even 1k for her would be a massive achievement. Same for Badosa and Kontaveit. Annet broke my heart this year 😭 Crossing fingers for Ons and Sabalenka to score one, ofc not against Iga 😬

DoingNothingToday

Pliskova yes! Ons and Coco too. Don’t care for Sakkari at all.

RyTingley1

I assume you mean Coco Gauff and not CoCo Vandeweghe

Obi-wan-Pierogi_

Ons, she seems very likeable in how she conducted herself after the US open final, humble and down to earth with a sense of humour. Having said that I’ll be rooting for Iga but if she is knocked out for whatever reason I hope Ons takes it.

runningdreams

Caro Garcia
