Especially in the little jars*

ccihsan

LC medium?

DirtyHarry133

The small jars were inocculated with LC and the big ones with agar wedges. Does LC have smth to do with the way it colonized? Other info that might help: the jars made and inocc'ed a week ago. 4 hour soak, 10 min boil, 2h pc at 15psi

ccihsan

I meant u could maybe give em a boost by injecting just sterilized water/honey

DirtyHarry133

Oh ok, sry i misunderstood. I tgought the same but i hope there's someone who's done and knows for sure

ccihsan

there is, thats how I learned abt it as long as its properly sterilized it def wont hurt it

DirtyHarry133

That's great! So you mean lme/dex water sterilised for 15/20 min right? Or should i leave it longer in this case? Will it not pool at the bottom of the jars? Should i use around 5cc for a 750ml jar?

ccihsan

I would just use water and honey because ur not worried about clarity if it isnt for actual LC. and then maybe just 1 cc per jar to start? so whatever measurement works for that. And I sterilize LC medium for 30 min idk if that matters

crazymoefaux

What tek are you using? I follow the standard RR rye tek, and I only have issues when I wait too long to use them, rye has a shorter shelf life than other grains being so nutrient-dense, they have a tighter margin of error when it comes to contam, too.

DirtyHarry133

Well i soaked for 4h,boiled for 10 min and pressure cooked for 2h on 15psi. Before i used to let them soak for 24h and boil for 20min and they always ended up a bit too wet. Then i moved to oats which are so much easier and forgiving in my experience but i finished them and forgot to buy new ones. I didn't wait too long to use them, i put the myc in 20h after the pc cycle was over.

Almost resembles lion's mane mycelium

DirtyHarry133

Unfortunately. it's a semi isolate that s usually really aggresive and fluffy

ingoodspirit

Is this your culture? How long have you been using it?

DirtyHarry133

Yes. Not that long. It's made from a clone and then transfered around 6 times from agar to agar, then Lc and then to these grains
