Yes he was amazing. Sucks that he died from cancer shortly after this. What a refreshingly genuine down to earth guy that was. Glad he got fame before his life ended too soon. RIP Rich Cronin.
In no particular order;
- Tiny Tim
- Richard Lewis (during the Jackie years)
- Henry Hill (also, during the Jackie years)
- Richard Simmons
- Elliot Offen
Jason Alexander. Especially the earlier years. Understood the show and was always pretty candid. Plus when they brought Croy on as the older lady he lost his virginity too, he went with it.
Rich Cronin (funny, exposed the dirty music industry a little, was a regular type of guy who dated Jennifer Love Hewitt who cheated on him)
Lukas Rossi (came w/ Kendra Jade Rossi, the show started out like Howard and Artie were a bit sceptical of him but soon they all got along great and he had good stories as a rocker)
Kacey Jordan (I love her somewhat high-class hoe stories)
Novak who would come w/ Bam (crazy fuck-up chaotic stories, funny Baltimore accent, Howard had a soft spot for him)
Recurring celbs I say the top 3 are for me: 1. Richard Simmons, 2. Kinison, and 3. Norm. Simmons really was something special when he showed up; he and Howard woulda been a great comedy act in the old days for sure. I also enjoy Corey Feldman's bits but you could tell there was a rivalry there. Shame he never invited him on during his bad music streak a few years back that woulda been fun.
One time reviews I really dig a lot of them. Best one in terms of trainwreck was Dana Plato, she was a mess. Listened to that one again for the first time in 10 years on Friday; oy vey. Eddie Murphy's and Iggy Pop's were trainwrecks too. Eddie seemed like he was too good to be there with on WNBC and Iggy was moody and got too whiny over Bowie, even if I love him he coulda done better. Vince McMahon's was really fun; he got deep into stuff.
Wackpack wise Elliott Offen is my fave. I miss that lunatic. RIGHHHTTT?!
someone said Hank so i'm throwing out Eric the Ungrateful Little Asshole!! love and miss that guy, 2007 was his golden year, the "hit" voicemail, the sanjaya stuff
Dice, Dee Snider (Great in the 80’s and amazing return spot years later after radio wars), Frank Zappa, Tiny Tim, Bobcat (until Cobain died), the Jets running back that came on weekly one season including the week he fumbled and got ripped by everyone including Gambling Dan. I can’t remember his name but he played at Florida St. Then was a 49er and then the Jets paid big money for him as a free agent RB and he was a bust. DEXTER CARTER. Siskel and Ebert, Hulk Hogan and Mr. T
Dee Snider was a rare case of someone who was a part of Howard’s life beyond just being a guest. It added something to their exchange until Howard started thinking in terms of how big his celebrity was in contrast to Dee and it tanked their friendship and their on air relationship.
Rich Cronin (RIP)
Scott Baio (MAGA loon but great guest)
Anyone who went in with me thinking they were a douchebag but ended up being cool as hell and honest.
Worst is always Amy pig face Shumer , Seth Rogen and anyone who is on so much it’s formulaic and boring.
Early Kinison was great. When he was tanking his career he’d have good moments, but some of the interviews were complete duds as well. When he was “recovered” in the window just before his death he had a few good call ins. In a lot of ways Sam worked best when he was in the mix with other people. The Judy Tenuda, Penn Jillette, etc. session he was in on was a classic that sadly doesn’t get the attention it deserved.
Hank the Angry Dwarf, Daniel Carver
Champagne addict Richard Lewis
That was amazing. I knew I’d hit rock bottom when a fell asleep at a movie screening.
Richard Simmons
The boy band guy that was screwed over by his producer, I always forget his name but that was fantastic.
Yes he was amazing. Sucks that he died from cancer shortly after this. What a refreshingly genuine down to earth guy that was. Glad he got fame before his life ended too soon. RIP Rich Cronin.
Mark Harris
Norm MacDonald
Herb Eaversmells
Jesus Twins
Brad Garrett
He destroyed Beth....sooo funny.
No one saying Machine Gun Kelly & Amy Schumer? ;)
Amy Schumer was good in her first appearance. After that……
I liked the one where she apologized for being white.
She should apologize for calling herself a female and a comedian. She’s a pig and a joke stealer.
Joe Walsh, Henry Hill, Joey Ramone, and Hank the drunken dwarf. Guess I have a type.
Hugh Jasshole
pam anderson, norm, chapelle, arnold, phoebe snow, the ramones.
Rachel Hunter
One of my all time favorites
Richard Simmons
Gary????
Also sam kinison was awesome RIP
In no particular order; - Tiny Tim - Richard Lewis (during the Jackie years) - Henry Hill (also, during the Jackie years) - Richard Simmons - Elliot Offen
It's funny, I was always scared that Elliot Offen was going to go beserk and cause real carnage when he was on.
Gilbert Gottfried
🎲
Abe Hirschfeld
OJ Simpson
Chuck Zito was always fun
Jason Alexander. Especially the earlier years. Understood the show and was always pretty candid. Plus when they brought Croy on as the older lady he lost his virginity too, he went with it.
Joan Rivers. Joe Walsh, esp pre-sobriety. Mamalookaboobooday.
Joan Rivers was always great on the show. She just got it.
Dana Plato
😬
The first Tracy Morgan interview. It was old time radio. I sat right by the speaker so I wouldn't miss a word.
Vincent gallo, Richard Lewis, Jesus twins and Dj Whoo Kid have been some of my favorites
James Brown
Beetlejuice
the guy from LFO
YES. He was great. May he rest in peace.
I remember Mia Farrow being a very interesting interview

Gary Busey, Marilyn Manson, Henry Hill
I forgot to give Jan Michael Vincent an honorable mention
5 Seconds of Summer
Snoop with Seth Rogan.
Denise Richards....because if that interview had taken place today...wiggy would be locked up with Ghislaine 😁

Totally. Great point and post.
Willie Nelson. Shatner.
Jim Bruer
ICP
Elliot Offen, especially his earlier appearances.
John Golbani
Rachel Hunter
I really really enjoyed Cloris Leachman, Richard Lewis, Bettle
Jonathan Mendelsohn
comprimisable

PAT COOPER . ON MEDICATION. ON MEDICATION.
Dice and Gottfried.
The best ‘milk spit’ times were the old dial-a-dates. Try to find the old Rob Lowe DAD. Hysterical. The best of Stern
Gilbert!
Artimus Pyle
Ian the drunk was funny
Bam and Novak
Chris Rock was always great, I still remember his line to Howard after he proposed to Beth "So you're going back to Shawshank?"
