He's missed 40 games and he has 4.9 WAR (both fWAR and bWAR). 4.9 is a pretty great full season for most players. Just shows you how incredibly special Trout is.
I mean what if he hits a home run every game until the end of the season. That would put him at 58 HRs lol
Edit: sprinkle in a few multi home run games and he can get to 62!
we all know it's technically possible, but... if it *did* actually happen, that necessarily implies that the team scores at least 8990 runs in that inning ~~*and* everyone in the lineup would be guaranteed to hit at least .624 on the season. just sayin.~~
edit: unless they all walked, unless they all walked...
lol, yes, i did. i assumed trout led off the inning with a HR, then all 9 players had 999 consecutive PAs, exactly two of which were outs, culminating with trout's 1000th HR to clear the bases. so 1 + 9*999 PAs = 8992 PAs, all but 2 of which ultimately resulted in a run. worst case scenario, the next batter makes an out to end the inning at 8990 runs.
Imagine he hits enough home runs that it makes what judge has done this year no longer a massive outlier. He can help ohtani win the MVP indirectly.
It's looking like judge may win the home run race by 20, he probably will also get to 62. There's no way he would lose the MVP in that scenario.
If trout can close the gap though, maybe it pulls some voters away from judge.
I was at a game a couple months ago & a foul ball looped over the net, headed for the stairs adjacent to my section. Two guys got up to catch it. It hit one of them square in the chest. His body flew back like he got punched by a superhero.
I was at a ducks game and a puck went up over the net and smoked an unsuspecting dude walking down the aisle with 2 full trays of nachos and drinks. He fell backwards on his ass covered in cheese and soda. Felt bad for the guy, but it was hilarious for everyone else to see. I think Wildwing ended up coming down with some merch for him in the next period.
Dude I saw a stray puck hit a kid/teen in the face. It was terrifying as it just smacked him and blood immediately started pouring out but the sound he made was pretty fucking funny, not gonna lie.
Had no idea Jeff Levering did national stuff. I’ve grown to like him, but yeah, he doesn’t always have a ton of pizazz. He’s got a little bit of early Joe Buck in him.
A down year in which he missed significant time and was diagnosed with a rare terminal back problem. Dude is actually one of the most talented athletes ever
Is that the KLAA local crew? Yeah, he takes some getting used to. Between them and the Dodgers radio side, listening to baseball on the radio is hard here.
Hey man, you know the rules. We can’t have all parts working together at the same time. One of them has to tank the team. Bullpen is just doing it’s job now that the bats are somewhat alive again.
Now that we're looking at the back half of his career, I'm saddened by all his missed time and how it will affect his final records and where he will end up in the inner hall.
OPS back over 1.000
Everything is right in the world again
I learned this year how much my spiritual well-being is tied to the performance of this man.
Your spiritual well-being must be nice then.
As of today I am back over 1.000.
SWB new stat
what's that -- one whole spirit?
One above replacement.
He's missed 40 games and he has 4.9 WAR (both fWAR and bWAR). 4.9 is a pretty great full season for most players. Just shows you how incredibly special Trout is.
It’ll be 5 after tonight
Fish man good.
Fish man indeed good.
and here i was worrying about him...
Nature is def healing
Trout has simply decided to be good at Minute Maid now
Amazing!
First there was Trout Mobile Park, now get ready for Minute Mike Park
He probably got tired of being good at T-Mobile park
After that first strike this was the most predictable HR of all time. He was MAD
Seriously that was a horseshit strike call. The ball was neck level
How can a ball be neck level to Mike Trout when he doesn't have a neck?
He’s all neck, just one thicc neck lol
His belt is really a necklace
i am having impure thoughts that i dont even understand
I laughed harder than I should have. This is an amazing underrated comment.
HES GOING TO STEAL MVP
I mean what if he hits a home run every game until the end of the season. That would put him at 58 HRs lol Edit: sprinkle in a few multi home run games and he can get to 62!
Ok but what if he does
He hits like a maniac at T-Mobile so who fucking knows.
So he won’t actually hit a home run a day, just 4 times for each game he plays at T-Mobile 😭 I think we could still win.
What if he hits 1,000 home runs in one inning?
I think I'd start foaming at the mouth
I feel like somewhere around 200, they might start walking him tho….
Hell learn the pitches well enough to hit even those out the park
At that point the chance to get an out is more important than the 500 run deficit climbing to 501.
I actually LOL'd at this comment.... Lots of licking (my lips)
we all know it's technically possible, but... if it *did* actually happen, that necessarily implies that the team scores at least 8990 runs in that inning ~~*and* everyone in the lineup would be guaranteed to hit at least .624 on the season. just sayin.~~ edit: unless they all walked, unless they all walked...
Not if they all walked
lol oh sure just fuck up my shit
Did you account for 2 outs?
lol, yes, i did. i assumed trout led off the inning with a HR, then all 9 players had 999 consecutive PAs, exactly two of which were outs, culminating with trout's 1000th HR to clear the bases. so 1 + 9*999 PAs = 8992 PAs, all but 2 of which ultimately resulted in a run. worst case scenario, the next batter makes an out to end the inning at 8990 runs.
I respect it. Just hope Trout didn’t have a foul tip in there. Seriously though, I like it.
I know Mike Trout is a god, but I'm not sure he'll reach [3.15 x 10^85](https://www.reddit.com/r/unexpectedfactorial/) homers.
Yeah well, that's just like your opinion man.
lmao

More realistically, his best is 45. Ohtani got 46 last year, and Troy Glaus is the Angels record holder at 47.
Dude would’ve prolly hit 60 this year if he was healthy. Truly a shame.
MICHAEL TROUT WITH A STEEL CHAIR
Pretty good for a guy who's baseball career was over last month
Yea, pretty good for a guy who's back completely disintegrated; leaving Trout as a geriatric potato
A potato that hits dingers at an alarming rate
You could say he *mashes*
Pretty good for a pitching machine swing
And my man took that personally
This Mike Trout guy seems pretty good
Fish man good
Fish man indeed good.
the things i would do for a full 162 of michael nelson trout
I think Trout playing a full 162 is basically a guaranteed lock for MVP.
historically if he plays 134 or more games he’s finishing top 2 lmao
Yeah. He's pretty inarguably the best player of his generation when he's healthy.
woa settle down with the hot takes there pal
I'm cooking, it comes with a side of hot takes.
Welcome to your regularly scheduled Mike Trout dinger thread.
I've missed these for sure.
It's beautiful.
it makes my vagina wet. And I have a dick! WTF!?
And I'm very okay with it.
These Mike Trout dinger threads are all the same.
Lmao at the guy who fell over catching it. It was that fast/hard hit.
I was at a game a couple months ago & a foul ball looped over the net, headed for the stairs adjacent to my section. Two guys got up to catch it. It hit one of them square in the chest. His body flew back like he got punched by a superhero.

I was laughing so hard
Fuck it give him the MVP I guess
He keeps this up and he could sneak in there
For ten years it's "is player x as good as Mike Trout? They're competing for MVP" but player x changes every year.
Yeah but he’s only won MVP three times. Should DFA him
“Hey, don’t forget about Aaron Judge” -u/SannySen
Lord have mercy if we ever forget about the Yankees (not hating on Judge tho)!
Let us honor a homerun in 6 consecutive games with a low-energy call. Nice
This crew fucking sucks. No energy at all - on either side.
Is it a national broadcast?
Seriously. The difference between the level of interest they showed in his record breaking homerun and a ball 4 walk is nil.
Just about as terrible a call as it gets.
when all of fox's top guys are doing cfb today or nfl tomorrow
Yea that's the Brewers radio guy not named Uecker. He's fine but how did he pull this job?!?
HES JUST SO FUCKING GOOD
For such an amazing feat the commentator could have at least tried to fake some excitement
I don't like it today.
Had no idea Jeff Levering did national stuff. I’ve grown to like him, but yeah, he doesn’t always have a ton of pizazz. He’s got a little bit of early Joe Buck in him.
34 home runs in a down year for trout. Unbelievable.
A down year in which he missed significant time and was diagnosed with a rare terminal back problem. Dude is actually one of the most talented athletes ever
🐐
Don't get too excited, guy in the booth. I wouldn't want you to hurt your vocal chords.
Right? This announcing crew is low energy - zero fun. I had to mute them.
Is that the KLAA local crew? Yeah, he takes some getting used to. Between them and the Dodgers radio side, listening to baseball on the radio is hard here.
All these Mike Trout home run posts are the same
No, the Angels are winning in this one
Give us time
Astros have been kinda owned by Ohtani this year and don't really make comebacks this year Not over yet obviously but odds look good
Bullpen has gone back to shit after a solid month, give it time.
Hey man, you know the rules. We can’t have all parts working together at the same time. One of them has to tank the team. Bullpen is just doing it’s job now that the bats are somewhat alive again.
Ah, but you forget the Angels bullpen.
I thought yalls pitching staff has been amazing lately? Or was that just for early August
I mean it was until the bullpen blew the last 2 games. But no our pitching has been outstanding lately
He did say the *Angles* are winning so I'm hoping your team's chances of winning are just as good
Rude. Not wrong, per se, but still. Rude.
*Angels
No, people were actually on base for this one
Big fly Mike Trout!!!
Bring back Victor 😭
too busy being a GM, but fr he was my fav part of trout/ohtani highlight reels from 2019
Trout about to finish top 5 in mvp voting in an injured season
Again
Still the best in the game
What’s that sound about a half-second after he hits the ball? Do they bang a trash can now to tell the outfielders they don’t have to turn around?
LOL
This video is fake. There were runners on base when he hit that HR
And it supposedly gave them a lead. These deepfakes are getting too realistic looking.
Someone's gonna set the AL home run record this year. But it won't be Judge
playing Seattle in 6 days...
Unfortunately not in Seattle.
Ah well. Still catching Judge though :D
He can’t keep getting away with this! Fish man good wow 😍
He’s a fucking monster
Nobody in the GDT jinxed it..that's why it happened
LMAO he wants the MVP for himself
MVP
Boost him back to a 97 overall, SDS
They need to at least supercharge him at this point.
Welp
Mike Trout saw the post about Ohtani being the team leader in literally everything and he took that personally.
My god. It’s so damn sad we are going to miss out on seeing him and Ohtani in the playoffs…again
Yes please get it out of your system before we come to town. ...please
You know that's not how it works
Dang it
So what you're saying is Trout is going to break the consecutive games with an HR? Only 3 games to go.
Consider this… mike stays hot for the mariners series 😁
All those pictures that guy drew must have helped a lot.
Hear me out, he's gonna catch Judge.
Jason Bourne says “Jesus Christ, that’s Mike Trout…”
It’s nice to see that the daily “Mike Trout is good” post is back.
That was the pure definition of teeing off. Put it right where he likes it.
Can't be hanging 93 middle-in to Trout. That is just asking for a ball to get absolutely blasted.
Mike Trout
GOAT things
He's hitting dongs in Houston this might be his final form
I'm just happy he is playing healthy
2 more to tie the record.
I hope he hits forty-two in a row.
Y'all almost forgot who the best player of the century was
Wtf was that fake bat-noise a second or 2 after he hit the ball? Almost shattered my eardrums.
I thought something fell in my house
That was the ball shattering the sound barrier.
Using advanced math, if he hits another home run that’ll be one more than he has now.
Peer reviewed your number. Math checks out.
Looks like he murdered a fan as well... R.I.P. In Peace
Fish man hit ball real good
Holy moly, talk about making up for lost time.
Somebody should draw a picture of Mike trout every day he hits a home run.
Hot take: Mike Trout is pretty good
Damn I'm gonna have to agree with ya on that one. Hope we don't get too much heat.
further proving he’s the greatest of all time
Interesting pitch selection of middle in to Trout
Amazing.
MVP
Anyone have the exit velo on that one? That thing was crushed
Sucks that his career is over :(
Imagine having to pitch to Mike Trout in on a field with the Crawford boxes
Believe it or not, I think yesterday was the first time he’s homered in Houston since 2019
Really making up for the time he missed, damn.
WTF is a Mike Trout??
That’s Mike Trout!
How many franchise records will he hold when he's done?
Now that we're looking at the back half of his career, I'm saddened by all his missed time and how it will affect his final records and where he will end up in the inner hall.
Yes?
He is one of the most skilled players to ever step on a baseball field
Fishman or Fishgod?
Dude what the fuck. He's the GOAT
Recognize his goat status now
He’s just so effortlessly good too. Such a compact quick swing but the ball shoots off his bat
That Fish can hit
The Angels? A franchise? Trout? Mike? Consecutive?
The broken spine revenge tour continues!
Yeah yeah we get it, you’re the best. Please stay this way for another 5 years.
This Trout kid is alright. The Angels should make sure he stays healthy.
FMG
Mike Trout doing Mike Trout things LFG
Could the call on this be any more matter of fact? Lol
If he hits a homer in every game for the rest of the season would that be enough to get him the mvp?
That would likely result in the greatest offensive season of all time so yeah.
This is a truly historic occasion. The Angels are winning.
If this man could only stay healthy
mother fucker must be tired of seeing ohtani's face on the angels leaders page lol
The most fundamental swing of all time. What a beauty.
Really hope he ends up with a team that isn't complete garbage.
