The WM37 main event was fucking awesome & a definitive MOTY candidate. That being said, I can’t help but feel the road getting there was a bit bumpy until Edge became the Rated R Superstar again. I honestly believe things could’ve gone smoother had Edge just challenged for the WWE Championship. I would’ve loved to have seen Bryan finally get the Rumble win he never had & go straight for Roman. I also believe AJ Styles should’ve been the one to win MITB last year & cash in on Drew to win the title. Edge was a RAW guy at this time, so he could’ve won the RAW Chamber to earn a shot at AJ.
This would’ve given them the opportunity to get the Edge/Styles match they were originally gonna do for WM36. It also would’ve allowed Edge to actually win this title & fulfill his redemption arc. As for Drew & Lashley, they could’ve either done McIntyre v. Sheamus & Lesnar v. Lashley, or still do Lashley v. McIntyre with Lashley winning. Either way it would’ve set up Lashley v. Edge for the title over the Summer. Meanwhile Bryan’s last WWE match would’ve taken place at WM in front of fans instead of ThunderDome SmackDown. They should’ve brought the fans into the feud more & acknowledge how they hated Roman. Bring up their 2015 history. The fans were Bryan’s greatest strength & Roman’s greatest weakness.
Bryan actually winning the Rumble & challenging Roman himself not only would’ve been a poetic story, but he wouldn’t have come off as entitled like fans criticized him of being (to the point where he was getting mixed reactions). You have Bryan put his WWE career on the line, have these guys + Heyman blur the lines of reality in promos, & you quite possibly get the biggest heel vs. face story since Gargano/Ciampa. Bryan would’ve lost clean & gotten a beautiful send-off in front of the live WM crowd as the American Dragon goes on to become All Elite. I don’t mind the ending we got tho. It was actually refreshing to see WWE put departing talent in a major feud & give them a proper send-off. I wish they had done it with Mox.
TL;DR: I personally would’ve preferred Bryan winning his first Rumble this year & facing Reigns 1v1. Acknowledge their previous history & fan reaction. Give Bryan a beautiful send-off at WM. Meanwhile Edge fulfills his own redemption, winning the WWE title, preferably from Styles.
I would like to thank 2019 Tanahashi for telling me that only the last 5 minutes of a Kenny Omega match matter because the prior time is just padded full of V-Triggers.
This is my weekly Mustafa Ali appreciation post
Bianca vs Becky is so good
I miss Bayley
I miss Sasha
I want Toni vs both of them
Nxt 2.0 is the Way household and I love how they introduced the new wrestlers. Someone pray for Principal Regal
Happy Corbin is arguably the best arc right now because this bastard didn’t learn a fucking thing
I don’t have much else this week - take care everybody and stream Deja Vu by ATEEZ 👍
WWE has only had one white person involved in the main event of Raw and Smackdown this week, and it was Heyman. I think they’re clearly attempting to appeal to “non traditional” (meaning not-white) wrestling fans
I always thought the us open stadium would be a great venue for an “in the round” concert like Metallica has done for almost 20 years. AEW capitalized on a stadium design with an arena size. It was a good show, but don’t get ahead of ourselves calling it great. Danielson/Omega was good, but it was just a race to have a draw and have Dipshit call it five stars. It was good, but it was a placeholder “we’re having a big show at a big place” type of nothing match. You knew it was gonna be a draw.
Roman Reigns doesn’t belong in best wrestler in the world conversations, Jonathan Gresham and Shingo Takagi and several others are clear of him
Punk vs WWE is one of the things I can see both sides on.
Like obviously I'd be pissed if a company doctor told me I was fine then I check with another doctor and he said I could have died, and from WWE I'd be upset if I had nothing to do with that doctor but was still getting shots from Punk
Court transcripts indicate the other doctor, possibly not even a doctor, didn’t suggest that.
Court transcripts also indicate that caring about Punk's health (he was thrown out of the rumble early because of a concussion) was the final straw that caused him to walk out.
So you're saying he's full of shit? No, never.
Cody is fucking hilarious. Dude thinks he's John Cena when prime Cena with the exception of ECW would have at least had the crowd mixed and sold tickets, not straight up all boos
Okay so I have 4 simple things on my wish list:
1) Sammy Guevara to beat Miro for the TNT Title
2) For the Phillies to make the Playoffs.
3) Ben Simmons to get traded, need the drama over with. I also lost a lot of respect for the man when he decided that he wanted to leave instead of improve his shooting.
4) This one is possibly the most important, I need Penn State to kick Michigan’s ass this season in football.
I went to Cardiff to catch WWE Live on Tuesday. It was fantastic, I had a great time. It was my first main roster show - I saw NXT in 2016 and it was *chefs kiss* too
What wasn't great though were these two human dregs sat behind me and my girlfriend talking the ENTIRE fucking evening.
Scratch that, not talking, shouting.
Now, I know, talking is fine but, when you spend 3 hours talking about AEW, talking about how Kevin Owens is going to AEW, talking about how Nakumura is "fucking wank" and using 'insider terms' in every sentence it gets very tedious.
If you're the type of asshole to do this, you probably have awful taste in music (listening to wrestling themes isn't a personality trait) and have 0 clue on how to talk about something outside of wrestling. Tickets were £50 for our block. I couldn't imagine paying to attend an event and then ignore it all evening.
Wrestling fans ruin wrestling.
I love Nikki A.S.H., Nikki has enough energy and character focus to pull it off. I adore her team with Rhea.
I know this is a ZFF thread but I finally bought a PS5 without paying resale prices and I am enjoying it soooo much
FUCK THEM SCALPERS
Which games are you getting
Right now I only got Miles Morales but I’m definitely keen on buying FIFA or 2k to pass the time!
If you like that kinda single player open world games, check out ghost of tsushima and horizon zero dawn if you haven't played them on ps4 already
Bro! I completely forgot Ghost of Tsushima was a PS exclusive
I am absolutely buying it as soon as possible
Yeah I got the Director's Cut of Ghost of Tsushima and I'm enjoying it. The Dark Pictures Anthology Games are also good.
Hey, glad to help lol
Remember when the IWC said that an IMPACT guy was going to beat Kenny Omega to bring the belt home and that's why we Impact fans should be ok with Tony Khan's insulting paid ads and Kenny beating the top Impact guys? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
I’m late but here we go:
Dave is right by his current metric after watching the match, Omega/Danielson is a 5 star match shit was amazing
Dave is wrong by his current metric in this being Bryan’s first 5 star. Let alone talk about all the classics he had pre WWE, matches like all three Bryan/Roman, Bryan/Lesnar, both Bryan/AJ matches, both of his WM Triple Threats, Bryan/HHH etc should all be on that pedals too, because IMO Bryan/Omega is a top 5 match of his last decade but it ain’t 1.
Dave Meltzer fucking sucks shit and looks like Hoggle from Labyrinth.
American Fast Food chain Wendy's has opened in Stratford in East London, I dragged the family over there (yes really) to try it.
I ordered 3 "Dave's Single" meals (or combos if you prefer) and it was pretty nice but it was pretty much your standard cheeseburger meal.
Next time I'm over that side of London, I might try their spicy chicken burger.
U gotta support a company who has a Twitter handle that talks wrestling
If they’ve got the spicy nuggets you’ve gotta try those
I shall. Thanks for the recommendation
This thread is disguised as giving zero fucks so people can be salty and edgy lol
It's basically disguised as scjerk so a certain bunch of non-AEW fans can have their safe space.
“Stop saying bad things about AEW!”
And the rest of you hate it despite you getting the entire rest of the sub
Yep lol shame because it's a good concept for unpopular opinions or whatever
I like the G1 being held later in the year rather than the summer. It means less time between the finals and WK, and it makes the whole thing feel more exciting.
I think people don't realize it but the deal Turner made for the NHL includes Wednesday games on both TBS and TNT. The will have up to 72 games split (TNT will air more but TBS will have some) for regular season, they will have playoffs. Then on top of that they have MLB playoffs on TBS. Which that won't effect AEW this year.
Now that they have announced a freaking wild card game on a Monday night. WWE might as well just do the Royal Rumble on Raw. Sorta kidding.
Metzlers star ratings for WWE are terrible. It’s like the cap they have is 4.25
Since Danielson and his 5 star rating is getting talked today, let me just say this, Nigel McGuinness > Bryan Danielson. He was so good... If he had better health overall he would be a huge name.
What your mother/father/that one relative of yours knows doesn't mean mainstream. My family don't know 90% of music industry because they don't follow this things. Obviously they won't know John Cena. (Because we're not even American.) They might know of Rey Mysterio by name since he was very popular when wrestling was something in my country but that's it.
Shang Chi was great, both as an action movie and as a fan-service for my bi eyes. Happy late Bi-Visibility Day.
I have not watched any wrestling outside of streamable clips and YouTube videos since 2019 because no company interests me anymore. I saw Youtube clips of NXT 2.0 yesterday and the brand change and new characters look appealing and unique. Especially when compared to the other brands. I'm going to give it a shot and watch an entire show next week.
I legit can't believe that CM Punk debuted in AEW and I haven't heard a thing about him since All Out except that I think he's feuding with Team Taz??? This is the problem with the debut spam, like it's one thing to forget about guys like Black and Almas when you get new toys but holy shit imagine getting CM Punk back and then no one cares after a month
-Let’s see: Becky buried Bianca, the crowd will hate the Alexa Bliss stuff, Big E is going to fail his cash in, Bryan/Omega is going to massacre Raw in the demo, and Happy Corbin will be met with silence. What will be the next thing the smarks will be hilariously wrong about?
-CM Punk is, and always has been, a B+ player.
-I’m a progressive person and I like watching Survivor. That “come on in guys” debate was embarrassing, one of the stupidest things I’ve ever seen on TV, and represented everything that is wrong on how liberals present ourselves to people who should be on our side.
Baron Corbin has knocked every single character he’s been out of the park. Happy Corbin is off to a great start and I see no reason to think it will flop.
It’s funny that AEW fans are constantly shitting on Corbin because his ability to switch up his character and make it work is very similar to Jericho.
I'm gonna go as far as to say I enjoy Corbin more than I enjoy MJF
Aside from the Tag Team division, practically every performer featured on Smackdown is part of a real, compelling storyline. People who post "WWE can't tell storylines" have not been watching Smackdown this year.
Happy Corbin > Wrestler loses match therefore has to run through jobbers in order to "get their wins up", but for some reason 1 loss = 10 wins or something.
Everyone is sleeping on Extreme Rules the card looks solid just wish the show had a different name.
Big E/Lashley will end up being a fun feud. Just hope we get serious Big E.
I’m sold on Reigns/Big E main eventing Survivor Series
I'm ready for CM Punk to move on from "happy to be here" Punk. Like, there's no need for a heel turn, but when he got fired up about fighting Darby Allin to prove to himself that he can still be the best, that's a character with motivation I'm interested to watch!
Trotting him out there just for the entrance pop is going to run out of gas (and tbf Punk has acknowledged this) but I think he's really getting to a point of needing a defined character motivation.
Unfortunately, those “we hear from ____” segments are draws. I have been a Sting mark since I was like 9 years old, but I got so tired of the same Sting segment every week. Hopefully they can do something creative with Punk.
Give him various festive hats.
Sean Ross Sapp really be on twitter bullying people who has a different opinion than he does
He’d fit in well here.
People want WWE to push liv Morgan cus she is hot. Someone like Carmella is better in every aspect of professional wrestling yet gets crapped on when given any sort of opportunity. What exactly is Liv Morgan good at?
You act like Carmella is some ugly monster lol, they have the same type of look
Her support comes from the time she was concussed by Brie Bella. She has not of sympathy from that and probably some stupid Liv is sister Abigail rumour.
She comes across as nice person but that doesn't mean all nice people win belt
Pretty much the same thing with Tay Conti. When it comes to Carmella it think her last character has way better than her current one.
Kenny's match against Bryan this past Wednesday was Kenny's best singles match since he left NJPW.
I don't care if it was "desperation" or "hotshotting" (a term that's becoming as misused as "buried" and "underutilized") the triple threat between Bobby, Big E, and Roman this past Monday was great. I will never complain about three of my favorite wrestlers tearing it down on free TV.
I genuinely don’t understand why wrestling fans are so hostile to big matches happening on tv. Especially for WWE given how cheap and convenient it is to watch their PPVs now. It’s great when the weekly shows feel important and unpredictable
Punk's comment about Pro Wrestling finally being back in New York just shat on all the other promotions just so he could make another WWE reference
First time AEWing?
Nope, but this one stuck out to me because it unintentionally took a shot at other companies too. I'm also not really vibing with Happy Punk
A couple buddies and I are watching through Hunter x Hunter because one of them has never seen it before. It's been a lot of fun to see his reaction to the stuff that happens and it's been great to watch it again for the first time vicariously through that friend.
Great show. The chimera ant arc is a slog but IMO worth it to get through to the end. I think the anime has one of the nicest endings to wrap up everything it needs to in the event that the manga never really finishes.
> The chimera ant arc is a slog but IMO worth it to get through to the end
This so very much. The Chimera Ant Arc seems pretty divisive because of its pacing. I even dropped it part way through for awhile. But coming back to it and seeing it through to the end is well worth it. It's got the highest highs and the lowest lows of the entire series in that arc.
I've actually started reading the manga recently after resisting the urge for a couple years. At this point, I'm fine if it never finishes because the anime had a really good ending, as you mentioned. But the manga is a nice little something extra.
FUCK EVERYTHING ELSE!
RTD IS BACK WITH DOCTOR WHO!!!?!!!!
To keep this wrestling related, both Edge and Punk's returns have been knocked down a peg
Seriously though, what the hell is with them smelling like ass?
CM Punk should just go and hatefuck WWE one time so he can finally get over them.
Can’t hatefuck someone you're still in love with.
Am I crazy or does AEWs ring look smaller than WWEs, and that’s with the average WWE wrestler being like 8” taller.
Same size. A lot quieter than any other ring I’ve seen though.
I could be wrong but I feel like I read somewhere a long time ago that WWE rings are slightly bigger than the average wrestling ring.
i think the area between the ropes is smaller. AEW for sure has larger aprons
JR gives a real sports feel to commentary. He's like Joe Buck and Troy Aikman all rolled into one.
Britt is a great heel but she is not as good in the ring as this sub wants you to think.
Mox is in desperate need of a heel turn ever since double or nothing he has been boring imo
Evil Uno is very handsome
JR needs to get off commentary before the end of the year he talks over Tony & Excalibur all the time he says pointless facts that nobody cares about he talked more about Brian Pillman being a football player and being roommates with one of the Harbaughs then he did about the actual match that was going
>JR needs to get off commentary before the end of the year
Not sure about the end of the year, but I do agree, don't get me wrong I respect JR since he is a legend & he's been doing commentary for so long now, but JR is pretty bad now, especially since he makes a good amount of mistakes.
Dynamite is a better watch then wwe ppvs. Maybe it's burnout or maybe the product is just stale.
Anyone got Crunchyroll and able to recommend some good adult/horror stuff that isn't super well known.
Big Berzerk & Junji Ito fan if that helps.
if they still have Shiki and Mononoke (the series, not the Ghibli movie), you should check those out
Bad Bunny is a bigger star than Lil Uzi Vert despite what this sub will tell you
They're both extremely popular
OOTL, how and why does this sub know Lil Uzi Vert?
He was at Wednesday’s Dynamite
Ah ok, a little random but good for them. Although if WWE were to get him, I guarantee there will be more “who” type comments.
I've never heard of Lil Uzi Vert & I'm being serious here as well.
i mean, technically yes, but that's like saying Drake is a bigger star than Kanye. they're both hugely popular
AEW's audio production, while much improved, is still shit compared to most other wrestling companies. During the Danielson v Omega match, you could barely hear any of the strikes they were laying into eachother, which is such a glaring issue when both wrestlers are renowned for being heavy hitters. Idk whether they need better ring mics, or it's just the mix that needs adjusting, but I really hope they sort it out soon.
Britt Baker is great at everything except the actual wrestling part of wrestling; bell to bell, she's completely mid. She has definitely improved since she first came in tho, so fingers crossed she can continue that upward momentum and actually become fun to watch.
Shingo is the wrestler of the year and I'll shit in your next pint if you disagree.
Lastly, please, PLEASE go out of your way to sub to RevPro for the months and watch High Stakes 2021. Gotta be one of the best wrestling shows I've seen this year.
Have you tried wearing a clip-on? /s
It’s hilarious to me that some of you here *still* don’t believe Bad Bunny is a well-known musician. El Ultimo Tour Del Mundo hit the no.1 album spot on the Billboard 200.
It was literally the first all-Spanish-language album to *EVER DO IT* on the all-genre chart.
And these are the same people who insist that WWE is out of touch.
Interestingly enough though, they all seemed to have discovered that Google exists and were able to find out who Lil Uzi Vert is and how he is a big deal on Wednesday instead of flooding the sub with the usual“who/Never heard of him” comments
This is the same website that says youtubers can't be celebrities, despite pewdiepie getting better views every day than most tv sitcoms. You can't argue with these people.
I've never heard a bad bunny song, but he clearly sells records, and music fame doesn't require "in english" to be a thing. I couldn't name you a kpop band either, but I know they're big in the us. BTS, wait I know OF one.
What’s funny is that I’m a huge MLB fan and it has a lot of Hispanics in the sport and most of their walk up songs are by Bad Bunny. The guy is huge.
Didi Gregorius coming out to Notorious BIG > *
Mandy Rose's repackaging has been quite a let-down for me. She just died her hair and seems to have set her character to "default pretty girl heel."
You said something negative about the WWE in sCJerk's weekly thread. Good luck, may god have mercy on your soul.
I’m pretty sure SCJ exists to make fun of people like you.
Circlejerk subs exist to make fun of established subs and their culture. Until they become a parody of themselves which SCJ became a while ago. SCJ wasn't supposed to be an AEW hate sub full of unfunny and angry people.
Yeah. You’re on their list for sure.
Despite people's apparent need to feel persecuted, it usually goes fine if you have a reasonable opinion and express it normally. I really only make a point to watch NXT and AEW in full every week and I use ZFF almost like Twitter about it. Just throwing some opinions into the void and if any of them start a conversation, then neato. If not, whatever.
I actually really like the new feel of NXT. The more open venue with more light & color, and a little more focus on actual *characters* is a welcome adjustment. I don't know if it'll be great long term, but it *has* picked up my interest more than I thought it would.
Bron Breakker is still the worst name, though. Just let him be Rex Steiner! That actually sounds like a name!
Malakai Black's music is absolute garbage. It's just screaming. That's it, it's just screaming.
I absolutely love his theme. My favourite theme in wrestling right now.
Really happy that there's a properly black metal wrestler to go with all the thrash and trap stuff.
The worst type of music. I got yelled at enough as kid whenever someone plays that type of shitty yelling "music" I seriously turn the channel or just leave if in person.
> It's just screaming. That's it, it's just screaming.
Yeah, it's cool.
I felt the same at first, but it’s oddly growing on me. Also I think I am always comparing it to his NXT theme which to me is one of the best themes ever and would get me instantly hyped. This one seems lackluster by comparison.
I like the song, the band and the album that it's on but as a wrestling theme I'd prefer something else.
It’s ok it’s not for everyone
I have a hard time believing that Bryan Danielson never had a 5 star match until literally his very first match in AEW.
If any of his matches with Roman happened outside of WWE, they'd probably be 5 stars.
...according to one dickhead.
I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it
It's so weird he got it in a match that's far from his best, but I guess the 5 stars is just one man's opinion
His match vs Cena at Summerslam, Bray at Royal Rumble and Brock at Survivor Series were all 5 stars. He also had 5 star street fight with Orton on Raw one time.
Idgaf what Meltzer says, the star ratings of every single person on this sub is worth just as much as his.
That is totally fair.
My whole comment was a thinly veiled callout on how bullshit Meltzer's star ratings are.
I don't even think his ratings are bullshit, it's his opinion. I just dislike the way some people act like you cant disagree with his rating, or that it holds more weight than anyone elses.
Well that's a more good faith take than I have. I definitely get the feeling of a conscious bias from Meltzer and his ratings.
Yeah we all have bias though. I'm a shameless Lesnar mark, I'll always rate his segments/matches higher than the average fan would. I'm honest about my bias though.
> I'm honest about my bias though.
This is a big thing though. Plus you aren't in a position where thousands of people hang on to your opinion/bias as a professional journalist or critic of wrestling.
And that according to a certain scale, the Young Bucks are far and away the best tag team in history.
It's almost like it shouldn't be taken seriously. By anyone.
Yup. Bucks have what, 6 or 7 5*+ matches now and Bryan Fucking Danielson JUST got his first one in his what, 20 year career?
A few years ago, I used to get excited to see what Dave's ratings were for ppvs. But I'm glad I eventually saw through his bullshit.
There has been 1 5 star match on the WWE main roster since 1997. Funny because last nights match was a very WWE style match.
I started watching WWE in 1999ish. It absolutely blows my mind that literally the only 5* match they've produced in the entire time I've watched was Cena/Punk MITB.
Meltzer doesn't like the wwe style. Don't take his word for what a 5 star match is.
He doesn't like the WWE style but gave the Bryan/Omega match 5 stars.
They've produced plenty. He's just not given them the rating because of his bias.
Really exposes the level of Meltzer’s bias, and makes me wonder why everyone seems to put so much importance on one guy’s opinion
His WM 30 title match was 5 start idc what anyone says
So is his Title match from WM35 too
So many good matches
Literally one of the reasons he’s my favorite wrestler ever is because he went to WWE and still managed to put on numerous classics, under various different circumstances.
The man along with the shield and Kane carried Ryback to a near 5 star match. He’s an all timer
- This was a great week for wrestling shows and a bad week for online discussion about the week's wrestling shows.
- Cody looked like he was wearing pajamas when he came to the ring and he looked so adorable.
- The cursing on Dynamite is excessive and doesn't make the product better. It's also super-cringey that of all the available curse words they are singularly focused on "shit."
- Tony Khan talking about how AEW fans are smarter and wealthier than other companies' fans is pretty much the line he crossed into being a carny piece of shit.
- The key demo conversation is very stupid because you're competing about who gets to be advertised at by chain pizza shops, mail-order erectile dysfunction medication, and Liberty fucking Mutual.
- NXT 2.0 continues to deliver on my necessary weekly quotient of big dudes clobbering each other and those much smaller with seemingly homicidal intent.
>The cursing on Dynamite is excessive and doesn't make the product better. It's also super-cringey that of all the available curse words they are singularly focused on "shit."
Probably sound like a spoil sport here, but if the fans can't swear in their chants then I think the talent shouldn't be allowed to swear on TV as well.
>Tony Khan talking about how AEW fans are smarter and wealthier than other companies' fans is pretty much the line he crossed into being a carny piece of shit.
How are AEW fans smarter than other companies' fans?
The cursing and bleeding is also inherently limiting to wider appeal.
Tony was juking stats from polling data that said there were more college educated AEW fans, but it's fucking professional wrestling and a six year old can understand it, so who cares?
Surprised he didn’t say “our fans are all massively well hung, and bang supermodels” I mean, might as well at this point. It couldn’t possibly get anymore ridiculous
it's like yeah our show is trashy as fuck but smart people with money like it, when their highest cost brand they advertise might be diabetes medication or Toyota. Who does he think he's fooling?
The feud between MJF and Brian Pillman Jr actually sucked. MJF said some edgy shit week one, Pillman came out and got his ass kicked. MJF doubled down (and said some shit that would get “most disgusting promotional tactic” if WWE did it), Pillman came in from behind and still couldn’t land a blow. Then their big blowoff? Pillman comes out like this is any old match, and eventually taps out and loses, like a loser. MJF said his mom was on drugs and his dad was in hell, and Pillman didn’t even kick his ass one singular time. He’s a fucking geek.
Btw, nothing says “Getting your heat back” like squashing a curtain jerker who hasn’t in any regard been made.
their feud in MLW was better than this one
> some shit that would get “most disgusting promotional tactic” if WWE did it
You don't have to make that an "AEW vs WWE" thing. Most of the reaction I saw to that promo was the same- it was lazy, cheap heat and MJF should be able to do better than just yelling that stuff for shock value.
>You don't have to make that an "AEW vs WWE" thing.
This entire sub's purpose is doing that.
Be the change you want to see
I mean you say that, but it won’t even make the ballot despite being the same thing as moments that literally won that award for the WON. Unless some especially gross shit happens, the precedent has already been set.
It’s a filler feud it doesn’t have to be amazing. It did fine for what they are building up towards. Darby vs MJF
Is it wrong to ask for better from a promotion I know can do better?
Its not wrong but sometimes things are what they are and the talent can make it better or not. This case Pillman just wasn’t on the same level of MJF and it was evident. If pillman was just more engaging the short feud would have been better and you know it. Not necessarily the promotions fault.
And then he taps out to MJF's weak armbar which literally does not look like it hurts at all.
I just want Yoshiaki Fujiwara to put him in an armbar so he can understand how that move should look like.
I feel bad for that woman who was standing next to the fan at AEW who raised his arms and the stench was so bad that she was forced to cover her nose and mouth. Fucking wash yourselves, please, especially if you're going to an event like a wrestling show. Don't ruin it for everyone else by being a stinky fucker.
I need to see this clip now lol
Jesus, no offence but if you're gonna attend a public event then at least look after your body & keep yourself clean & fresh.
Someone please deliver!!
I'm glad AEW is doing great, and I love having so many options. That said, if this trend does result in an upward line for more wrestling viewers overall, WWE stands to get the winfall from this. They already have a much larger organization, more exposure, plus more content. Casual viewers already consider pro wrestling:WWE::football:NFL.
Hah, that Joe Gacy NXT 2.0 thing is all gone now. And I didn't even realize he's been around prior to that gimmick.
The wild casting of the Super Mario movie actually made me interested in seeing it. Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Charlie Day as Luigi, and Jack Black as Bowser? Sign me the fuck up.
I’d be frustrated too if I was Brian Cage. Dude was the big surprise debut at Double Or Nothing last year, and looked like a killer (thank you Joey Janela for reinforcing how terrifying Cage is with your scream). And then, he lost to Moxley by submission when Taz threw in the towel. He teased tension with Taz for like a week and then everything was fine, and then AEW started treating him second fiddle to Ricky Starks, and then to Powerhouse Hobbs, and then they had him tease tension with Team Taz for forever again. Dude probably wants to go back to Impact at this point, at least they booked him well. Oh and they also now just bury him on commentary now. Id be pissed to
No wrestler with the physique and ability of Cage should be where he is in any promotion ever. He is the perfect example of bad booking in AEW
It would be an example of bad booking, except Brian Cage sucks. He's the drizzling shits in the ring and the personality of balsa wood. He's a physique, that's it, and is booked above where he should be, which is continually jobbing out to guys that have actual talent, and don't juice themselves to the gills
Tbf when 50% of the venues won't let you in without being vaccinated and you are an anti vax pos it makes it hard to be featured
He can't handle a mic to save his life. The only time I've ever semi-liked a promo of his, it was pretaped. He can wrestle well, but dude has to lean heavily on a manager or other mouthpiece. His booking has definitely not been great, but it's not like he should be up at the top either.
They should’ve had him turn on Ricky so taz can still manage cage and starks can speak for himself.
Yeah, the writing was on the wall with those Team Taz team promos where Taz and Starks would kill it, and Hobbs would nail his one line, and then Cage would say one catchphrase boringly.
One of the names just getting lost in the shuffle. He looked really good against Hangman earlier this year. Maybe he does need to work for other marquee promotions. Impact would be good maybe NJPW
He'd be awful in NJPW. He can't work at all. He's worse than Yujiro
My guy I see you commenting and posting in the NJPW subreddit. And respect if you say that then You more than likely right.
I like seeing the tv ratings
So idea that I just came up with, what if AEW keeps the DO civil war storyline going until full gear. They have a big match to figure shit out but before the match, Hangman returns to save the DO from themselves with the help of Anna. After full gear, AEW starts the Owen, and Hangman wins it on the first dynamite of 2022. There by setting up Hangman-Omega at Revolution.
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
I know there's been talk of the DO members never having a new leader after Jon's death. But if there was anyone. I mean literally anyone who would fit to take over those reigns it's Bray Wyatt/Rotunda.
It's important to note they mentioned no one leading it because I'm pretty sure no one in the world thought the WWE would be stupid enough to release him.
He's a deep friend of Huber and I have no doubt the Hubers would give their blessings to see him step in. He obviously fits with the whole Dark Order theme. And I keep hearing there's been some cryptic stuff sent out by him about coming back, being a leader.
Danielson vs Omega went to a time limit draw then run in. Before the 30 minute draw there was 10 minutes of stare downs and intro hold/exits. They stared at the 20k fans on free tv for a no lead up match like it was Rock vs Hogan at Wrestlemania. The indoor pyro made the arena smoky and grainy looking on tv.
Match was really good for a lot of it. But it’s not some best match of the past decade like this sub is acting like. Also props to the commentary during it.
Here's an actual unpopular take. While I mostly been away from most wrestling forums on the internet, I say this with all sincerity, I find this sub much better to discuss wrestling than other places. I have my complaints (discussing posts getting downvoted, certain threads and topics not getting pinned ect...) but it's far better than other places. It's more progressive than other places, seriously go on Facebook and placed like wrestling forum and see some vile inappropriate comments about POC and women. I remember during the race riots last year, everyone here was in unison supporting our black brethren, go in other forums and it's a 180 and some comments and reactions tend to be borderline racist. At least, it's more welcoming than other places. And most of all, I can have an actual discussion here. If I were to ask "why do you guys hate Alexa Bliss", Facebook people would jus say "she sucks, she can't wrestle", while here you can et more detailed responses and better analysis.
The Fiend did very little for me. I enjoyed the FFFH stuff more when it was more of a mystery. The way people reacted to the HIAC match with Rollins was way over the top. I thought it was stupid but some were really angry as if their favorite football team missed a chip shot winning field goal to lose the Super Bowl. It was way over the top, I'm not defending it but for goodness sakes people. Back to the Fiend, his matches for the most part weren't very good, the dark monster stuff felt cheesy, wrestling fans may have liked it but outside the wrestling bubble, other people would laugh at it and call it cringe. I never understood why The Fiend was the hill many were prepared to die on.
Not to sound like a Fox News Reporter, but that AOC “Tax The Rich” dress at the Met Gala, an event that to go costs like $30,000, was pretty cringe and didn’t really help any cause. Just made me wonder how much AOC was making
Kurt Cobain wore a shirt saying “corporate magazines still suck” on the cover of Rolling Stone. Weird no one complained nearly as openly about that one.
The excuses people are making for her are ridiculous as well. “She’s raising awareness!” No she isn’t, people have been aware that the rich can be taxed more for a pretty long time now.
Her voting present on Bomb the fuck outta Palestine bill is way more cringe.
And then making it about herself afterwards
The designer being delinquent was chef's kiss
Turns out the dressmaker owes a shitton of back wages and taxes and basically runs an intern “exposure” sweatshop as well.
