Kurzgesat videos are masterpieces. Anyone with free time should watch them all, they are well documented, accessible to all and enlightening.

JustAskBrain

Except their meat scandal with Mic the Vegan (YT channel) about their diet video in which they claimed meat is good for you but got utterly destroyed by mic and well, they had to delete a comment they made as a response.

Dododingo-

Didn't knew about that, but a quick search brought me this : [https://sites.google.com/view/micthevegansourcescommentary/startseite?authuser=1](https://sites.google.com/view/micthevegansourcescommentary/startseite?authuser=1) From what I see, they know what they are talking about. They also have updated their sources to replace industry founded one for neutral ones ([link to comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/kurzgesagt/comments/f1t3e5/questioning_the_credibility_and_integrity_of/fhad734?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x)) : [https://sites.google.com/view/sourcesmilk/](https://sites.google.com/view/sourcesmilk/)

JustAskBrain

Yeah and if you read their "Sources" you see that they admit that there are evidence against meat and dairy, in fact the newest studies that have come out this year also support the idea that meat is bad for us. Besides that, even if it was healthy there are so many other issues such as climate change and morals.

Dododingo-

Those issues are all adressed in the video.

That’s not even fair though because they are, by law, to maximize profit. It’s really fucked up but they HAVE to do it, or else they’ll get someone else to do it anyways. It’s up to the investors.

Or maybe it's on the governments who gave the corps a license to operate to prevent them from harming society. Unfortunately the corps and rich people with interests in the corps also donate to the politicians, and now we're in trouble.

ordenax

'They are, by law, to maximize profit'. I am sorry. That is concerning. Law doesn't force to maximize profit or even have profit. It is because they want to maximize profit, driven by greed. And in that greed they have contributed to the ruin of nations, earlier and now nature itself. There is no excuse for their acts. I hope you dont try to seek one too. They have to be forced to care for the people and the environment before they care for themselves. I know for an American these may seem alien concepts, some may tag this as socialism but world has to heal from the pain U.S. And China inflicted upon it and it will be stymied as long as there are apologists for the corporations and their greed.

runthepoint1

I think maybe I should have been clearer. In reality (the way things are currently), they are legally held to a standard to solely chase profit and they’d have to show that any indirect movement will eventually play into profiting the company. I learned this from someone else on Reddit when I told them the same thing you told me - that they SHOULDNT have to, but there are legal cases where they’re held liable. I 100% agree with you. We need to change our goals and our path in order to have long-term sustainable benefit. No question about that, American or not. We all share 1 world so if it goes under there’s no America either

InconspicuousJerry

While at its root your argument is correct and we should definitely eat the rich, we did form societies and countries with the power of controlling the few who shit on the many. Colonialism also predates the industrial revolution, an arguement could be made that machines made slavery uneconomic, therefore contributing to its end. But yeah, when there's people with yachts that fit smaller yachts inside of them it's not hard to figure out where this came from.

Jesus, are you off your meds?

About Kurzgesagt ( [https://kurzgesagt.org/](https://kurzgesagt.org/) ): Kurzgesagt – German for „In a nutshell“ is a Munich-based YouTube channel and design studio with a unique perspective on design, color, and storytelling. We engage in information design projects of all kind, but are best known for our distinctive animation videos. We want our work to raise awareness for topics from the fields of science, space, technology, biology, history and philosophy. Our goal is to inspire people to learn – and we believe humor and a good story to tell are just as important as straight facts.

Burnrate

Those videos are all garbage passing specific political agendas and lobbying groups desires.

duckduckohno

Ahh yes, I'm glad you recognize the corrupting influence of Dyson Spheres and Microphages

zivoradfromhell

Kurzgesagt has some of the best quality videos on YouTube in terms of content and animation in my opinion. They seem to try to be as unbiased as they can.

miloca1983

Kurzgesat.? What the hell are you smoking. There little politics involved in their videos

pbradley179

Moving the solar system has a sinister liberal agenda attached.

Feniks_Gaming

Are you drunk. This was probably the most unbiest video looking at who is responsible for climate change that you could find showed 3 different metrics by which you can judge and no clear consensus apart of what we should all know if we don't act TOday tomorrow may be too late.

Thank god it's clear, though. Can you imagine if they'd just shut up and never said anything? They might have passed among us unnoticed.

Inprobamur

It's all paid by the big black hole in the center of the galaxy lobby.

LTerminus

Since you used the word specific, why don't you get specific? Which lobbying groups paid for which videos?
