And chocolate chip cookies
now you bring on an idea
Came here to say this
Almost any steamed vegetable
THIS. In most cases of people saying they hate vegetables, I found out it is because their parents cook the poor things to oblivion
This is one area where I use a timer every time. Even one minute too long ruins the veggie.
TRUE! There are millions who have never cooked a vegetable correctly in their lives.
exactly, they cook it until it's a soggy, depressed excuse of a vegetable
Or roasted. Except potatoes, no crunchy-ass potatoes.
Brussels sprouts, too
Raw salmon is godly
And it can help you meet god
Salmonella comes from salmon /s
I added the /s now :P
Cinderella came from cinders, so it checks out.
Omg I second this ^
I make it so that it's like eating raw cookie dough but without the food poisoning risk
I made edible cookie dough because the cravings hit me hard! Highly recommend
There's a Cookie Dough Cafe near me! Like an ice cream shop but edible cookie dough.
chocolate chip cookies... I dont care about salmonella it hits so good
But salmonella cares about you 🥺
I believe the E. coli from the undercooked flower is a bigger concern.
E. coli is actually a normal flora within the digestive tract. So eating completely raw cookie dough would only be an issue if you are immunocompromised or are already sick. If you are partially cooking dough E. coli is killed if exposed to heat over 160 Fahrenheit for more than 5 minutes -> so the small risk is completely gone by that point.
This was the best take away I got from my medical microbiology course
Soooo you’re telling me I should be eating more cookie dough? As you wish! 😁
They have recipes that in my opinion are equally as good that leave out the eggs.
cookies definitely hit better undercooked
I've eaten so much raw cookie dough, I don't think salmonella in eggs is as common as quicksand
Yes! Broccoli is way too often overcooked. It has to be al dente!
Omg no opposite, steam that shit till it’s decently cooked, then throw it in a pan and fry that mf so it’s a lil crispy and a bit browned
Steamed broc smells like farts
When roasted, you gotta cook the shit out of it.
I completely 100% disagree. Undercooked ramen makes me want to throw the entire bowl out.
I like them fully to over cooked, too. .
The ramen has a good texture when slightly crunchy while being soggy
With Real ramen this is absolutely true = katamen
Raman is so good no matter what you do, I can eat it under cooked, way over cooked, even raw and ill enjoy it
Yup. It's not even the taste for me but just that slight crunch in texture I want.
Or just instant noodles in general
Pillsbury sugar cookies! Timing is so important with those.
Thank youuuuu. I always undercook them because if you do it for the specified time, they come out like a hard cookie.
Same here! I always baked them at the correct temperature and time and they would always turn out hard but when I started baking them for 3-4 minutes less they would turn out right.
Ah yes undercooked revenge served cold mwahaha
It can be easily reheated in the microwave of evil.
Or if you really wanna go all out…the oven of doom
Well, I think your warranty's about to expire.
Eggs. I like me a runny yolk
Runny yolk? Perfection.
Runny white? instant gag reflex
I like my yolk runny, but same, can't stand runny White. I have learned to take the spatula and break the invisible barrier on the white while it is in the pan so it spreads out thinner and cooks faster so my yoke doesn't get overcooked
You better be dunking toast in those runny yolks!
My dad used to do that and I picked up on that habit.
The best runny yolk it’s when you put it on top of something (rice and beans, avocado toast, cheese, etc…) abs then cut it perfectly in the middle so it runs all the way down !
Stop. im already erect.
take a boiling pot with water and leave them in for eggsactly (funny name pun) 6 and a half minutes. put them in cold water
straight up perfection trust me
That's just eggs fully cooked man
Cookies. Leave them soft and slightly undercooked in the middle. Yum!
I make cookies with pudding, so they stay very soft and a little gooey. My ex husband always made me burn a batch for him because he preferred them hard. I've never met anyone who didn't like my cookies before or since him.
Yes! Top answer!
"Show it a picture of a grill."
Run it through a warm room.
I would like mine to still be mooing.
Dang right. A good quality steak is heavenly at medium rare.
It’s not undercooked. It’s juuuust right
Yeah, this isn’t more popular because medium or medium rare is properly cooked. Undercooked for those people would be less than medium or medium rare.
I prefer mine medium rare, but would rather under than over.
Pasta - Al Dente
My wife and I agree that "al dente" is Italian for "correctly."
in german we say "bissfest"
what translates to bitestrong
so they are like still strong enough that you can bite em
I always assumed it meant "of teeth" because it's nearly the same consistency as eating teeth
”To the tooth.” How people eat pasta in any other way is beyond me.
Agree to disagree, but your comment actually made me laugh!
I’m also so pissed at myself when I miss the Al Dente mark. Such a short about of time makes such a huge difference.
Especially the brain
Cornbread or cinnamon rolls but only if they’re still warm
What kind of crazy depraved monster are you?
You undercook fish? Believe it or not, jail.
You overcook chicken, also jail.
Disagree. I love salmon with a bit of translucency.
Hmm, sushi is all the way undercooked.
Had to scroll toon far down for this
I love my French toast runny in the middle. But I don't know how you undercook pancakes? I tend to like them on the thin side. But are you suggesting that the batter is not fully caked when you undercook a pancake?
Cold pizza.. Heat it for like 25 seconds.. Best of both worlds.
I like to reheat the crust in a hot oiled pan so it gets hot and crunchy but not long enough for the toppings to warm up or the cheese to melt. Best of both worlds.
This is the way
Revenge, no... that's best served cold.
Bacon. Crispy sucks when it crunches to eat it.
Perfect bacon is when the meat is still slightly chewy, but the fat is fully rendered and has a crispy, almost chalk like texture. The window for this state is approximately 4.6 seconds.
Trick is to take it off slightly earlier than that window so they keep cooking in their own residue heat for a moment. The chance of hitting that perfect state is increased by quite a bit.
Firm but not crispy is definitely superior. I hate when it’s super crispy and just shatters in my mouth
But what if the bacon is so perfectly crispy that instead of crunchy it just crumbles into your mouth?
That is the perfect bacon.
That's pork jerky
This man understands.
Crispy bacon is over cooked
The trick is to oven cook it in a pan low at 350F. Takes a while but increases that window by a ton and doesn’t matter if it starts frozen. Mmmmm slow cooked bacon.
My wife tries to speed this up by doing it at 400F and burns it every time.
Meat. People call it undercook when there still red inside but Jesus Christ, it’s delicious
If I'm ever out at a restaurant with my sister-in-law, she will literally tell the waiter she wants her steak like beef jerky 😢
Cookies. I’m a sucker for chewy cookies
Nearly everything besides… I don’t know, chicken.
Kind of nut-like with a firm texture (yes, I realize as I write this, there us just no way to say it without handing reddit a straight line on a silver platter...)
Cookies, especially when the middle is soft and chewy
Fully undercooked pork mince, German here we have this thing called Mett, its raw pork mince, usually used as a spread on bread and served with raw diced onion its bomb, i don't care what you say i know it can make you sick but i'd offer food poisoning in return to bomb flavour.
Pasta , and it also become easier to digest , most of us in Italy eat it this way, we call it "al dente" that literally means " to tooth "
Cookies, chocolate chip cookies
Pancakes with the raw batter in the middle holy so good it might not be good for you but it’s still delicious
Steak is better undercooked. Though I would argue that a properly cooked steak is rare, and anything else is overcooked.
Popcorn gets overcooked long before it is burnt. People go too damn long.
I low key enjoy the slightly burned pieces of popcorn.
Pizza. I don't mean leftovers I mean frozen pizzas.
So... you like cold, stiff pussy? There's a word for that 🤦
He must wanna be a mortician
Noodles in a real bowl of ramen.
Cookies, it's so soft and gooey in the middle.
Eggs. I like the yellow still runny
Have to undercook just the onions though
That way everyone gets to know each other on the pot
Carrots. In any form.
Al dente potatoes aren't shabby
A nice naked pork chop.
My mom was a nervous cook when it came to pork and always overcooked it. She could usually make it work nonetheless, but a properly cooked piece of pork is good eats.
Steak, Pork, fish. Or just eat that last one straight up raw
McCain Potato Waffles
For me chocolate chip cookies
I like them just a bit goopy. Just a little bit, though. It's a fine line between *just right* and *runny & disgusting*.
Bacon , probably not safe tho-
chocolate chip cookies
Unpopular opinion: rice.
soft and chewy beats hard and crunchy any day.
I kinda like it when cookies aren’t fully cooked, I like that gooeyness
I like potatos when they firm and big harder still
