It's been so since ancient times that the Slavs, especially the peasants, never paid much attention to controlling their body weight. They did not need it, for, holding one hand for the plow, and the other without letting the sword, kept themselves in good physical shape without any fitness, exercise equipment and proper nutrition. In addition, there was not always the opportunity to eat well, often had to live half-starving. Until now, as an echo of those times, in our life there lives a humorous saying "until the fat will grow thin, the skinny will grow thin."
But times have changed, loads on the body have changed, hunger has long been forgotten. Cultivated a few decades ago, active rest today replaced the gathering in front of the TV or monitor screen. A consequence of this was a pronounced tendency to increase the number of people with excess weight. weight loss pills
Today, every person, whether male or female, is very important to know their normal weight. To some it may seem surprising, but the weight, more precisely, its deviation from the norm, is directly related not only to the person's well-being in general, but also to his mood, his ability to enjoy life. And if women in the majority try to watch their weight, then the majority of men the presence of a few extra kilos in their appearance is not considered a problem.
Since all calculations of the weight of the human body are based on the growth, weight and age of a person, the Soloviev index is very important for the correct determination of the normal body weight. This index is measured in centimeters the thinnest place of the circumference of the arm on the wrist. Based on the results of this measurement, one can judge the type of physique of a person and the structure of his bones. Depending on the results of the measurement, three types of human constitution are distinguished.
Asthenic (thin-skinned) type - the wrist circumference in men is less than 18 cm, in women less than 15 cm. In men of this type, elongated arms, legs and neck, by nature thin and light bones, muscular mass is poorly developed. Such people visually clearly show the predominance of the longitudinal lines of the body over the transverse lines. Normostenic (normokostny) type - the circumference of the wrist in men from 18 to 20 cm inclusive, in women - from 15 to 17 cm. Men of this type are composed proportionately, harmoniously. The muscles are sufficiently developed, but they are not conspicuous.
Hypersthenic (broad-chested) type - the wrist circumference in men is more than 20 cm, in women - whiter than 17 cm. In men of this type, the body structure is fairly proportional, but visually the transverse dimensions of the body are greater than the longitudinal dimensions. They have thick and heavy bones, broad shoulders and chest. They also have wide hips and relatively short legs, and a well-developed muscle mass visually gives the body extra volume.
It is generally believed that the ideal weight of a person is the one he had at the age of 18. If you can easily save it in fifty years, you can safely consider yourself lucky. Because every 10 years the energy costs of our body are reduced by approximately 10%, i.е. At a rate of 1% every year.
Therefore every ten years we become heavier by about 10% of the previous weight. If you let things slide, then at your age of 29 you will weigh 10% more than 18, 40 at 10% more than 29, and 50 at 10% more than 40.
A very long time to determine the norm of weight used a table of the relationship of height, age and weight of a person. But since all of its indicators were averaged, they did not take into account the structure of the body structure and the muscle mass of a person, the results obtained often sinned inaccuracies.
Over time, this table was refined, polished. The average indicators in the table were replaced by indicators for the three types of human constitution, defined by the Solov'ev index, and the division in years disappeared. However, this does not mean that the table has become perfect.
Until now, the problem of determining the weight norm for obese people remains unsolved. After all, scientists have long proven that obesity and excess weight - far from the same thing. When using the table to determine the weight, it must be borne in mind that a well-developed male athlete with an impressive muscle mass on this table can easily be attributed to people with excess weight, although this excess is not given to him by fatty deposits, but by a large volume of muscles.
If after several weeks of regular training in the gym scales showed that you have gained weight, then you added it not at the expense of excess fat, but due to additional muscle mass. So this is an occasion for pride, not for sorrow.
There are several formulas that allow you to calculate your optimal weight. The simplest in application and therefore the most in-demand of them is the Brock formula. The initial version, developed more than a century ago, was as follows: a man's height -100. But this variant had the same drawbacks as the growth and weight tables - it did not take into account either the type of person or his age. So, the weight of large-boned people according to this formula has always been more than normal, and thin-boned - less.
Therefore, Brock's old formula was refined to make the results more realistic. To now calculate the optimal weight for this formula, it is necessary to take 100 from the growth of a man and multiply the result by 90%. For example, take a man of 176 cm and calculate his normal weight: 176 -100 = 76 x 90% = 68 kg.
However, even with the modern correction, Brock's method ignores the individual features of the structure of the human body.
The index is calculated as the ratio of the weight of a person measured in kilograms and its height, measured in meters with two decimal places and squared. If, as a result of such calculations, the BMI is 18 units or less, this indicates a lack of weight, but if it is 28 units or more, this indicates an overweight. The results of a BMI of 19 to 27 units indicate a normal weight.
To better understand the technology of calculating BMI, consider a simple example. The height of the man is 176 cm, weight - 70 kg. The calculation of the body mass index will be as follows: 1.76 x 1.76 = 3.1; 70: 3.10 = 23 units, which indicates a normal weight.
If you are not friends with mathematics or simply do not want to deal with calculations, you can measure your height, weighed and compare the findings with Table 2, finding in it a column corresponding to your body type.
To determine the type of physique, use a simple method that does not require any measurements and calculations. Become in front of a large mirror, as far as possible as possible, pull the stomach. In this position, place open palms on the lower ribs.
