I am so impressed when people draw out designs, I can only draw stick figures!
Sorry to say but I'm pretty sure these are traced. Still an impressive notebook!
The individual shapes were clearly made with some sort of tracing tools and rulers, but I think they meant the sketches of the people wearing the garments. At least, that’s the thought that popped into my head, beautiful sketches!
Yes I think the people were traced.
OMG can you scan the whole thing?!? That is so awesome
Right it’s so beautifully done she could publish it
Could sell it on etsy as a pdf. I would love to read those, keep us updated if you do any full uploads.
I'd certainly be happy to pay :)
Wow wat gaaf!! Koester het!
Ga ik zeker doen! Nog wel even leren hoe ik met dit soort patronen moet werken though... 😅
Wow! This is so neat and special. You should post it on r/handwriting too!
Oh this is precious! When my grandmother passed away I got her 1970 Bernina and it had the original manual with it. She had written little notes all over it and even stapled samples of the stitches and techniques to the pages. I love looking through it. Her handwriting is so perfect! Well, enjoy this beautiful gift.
What decade is it from? Very nice sketches!
I believe she followed the classes somewhere in the 50's or 60's
That’s an AMAZING gift!
Echt super vet!
Although I don't get anything apart from "handschrift" and "handwerkschool" I like your language very much. Seems always more visual and a bit softer than german to me.
It's so cool thing to have 😌😌
This is so lovely! Truly a treasure. I agree the handwriting is amazing too. I would love to make a font for my computer from it. Wish I could read Dutch too 😊
Oh WOW this is amazing, i love stuff like this so much. The drawings are so clean and pretty.
Wauw dat is leuk!!
What a treasure!
This is very special, thanks for sharing :)
Wow, that is so cool! What an awesome thing to have
Is this English?? I just give up on learning it 😅
No, I think it might be Dutch
What a treasure? Is the notebook in Dutch?
Wat gaaf! En wat kon ze goed tekenen zeg!
Wow! I'm super impressed. I started something similar a while back, but totally fell off the wagon. It's immaculate!
Omg I love this! The writing! The drawings! Hopefully you can figure out the steps easily.
Wow this is truly a treasure!!
Her writing is so neat. What language is it in? Your so lucky to have this. So much detail. If I were you I'd scan all the pages so you have a copy and then avoid any wear happening to the original. What a gift.
It's in Dutch.
This looks like the one I did for my pattern drafting class but vintage! Your grandma’s a talented illustrator!
Oh wauw dit is echt zo bijzonder! Hopelijk kan je er mooie dingen mee maken :)
Ach, wat leuk. :)
Mooi handschrift heeft ze!
I'm so very jealous!
What a treasure. Have so much fun and post when you make something
What a treasure!!!
That’s so precious!
What a gorgeous treasure
Im guessing your dutch from the writing,me too!
What a treasure 😍
How lovely! A friend of mine has a binder full of patterns and sewing notes mostly passed down by her dear aunt. I never even thought of arranging them like a recipe book, mine are just squeezed inside a filing box.
Ooh I want to see more!!!😍😍
I love the way your grandmother wrote so beautifully. This notebook is exquisite
You mean your Oma's book?
This is so special ❤️

Is this german. It's very pretty handwriting
Gonna go ask my mom if she’s been hiding my grandma’s secret sewing notebook from me all these years
Your Grama is divine!!

this is so sweet... i would love such a gift, thats so sweet
De tekst is echt wel mega ingewikkeld om te volgen :o
Beautiful note taking
Why not both? :)
not sure when this died out (did it?), but I went through middle school with many "home ec", music/choir, and vocational courses in the mid '70s. I enjoyed sewing, cooking, knitting, print shop, photography...good times. this was before I knew there was a vocational high school in town, so my high school years were not as fun.
Unfortunately as budgeting gets cut these are the first programs to go. I was in middle school in 2008, and I think the year prior the class was cut.
History is important. There ought to be room for both.
