I would watch the hell out this. Halloween special vibes lol

Why not Rhodey and Falcon tho?
Im sure its due for an update. They’d definitely be in
They don't really fit in with that vibe as much as the others and would completely change things. If it's supposed to just be a "throw every black character we have in there!" kind of thing, then sure. But if you want to have it all be decent and make sense, then the characters in the op make the most sense imo.
All-black means the entire team is black, not that all black people are in the team
Yup. Because there’s no more black people in Marvel past the ones listed here. Nope. Not a one.
It'd probably just cross the line into being incredibly silly, but....
If its an outbreak of ghosts in the South against an all Black team, let them fight the the KKK and the Soul Strangler. Luke Cage, Monica Rambeau, Blade, and Black Panther, facing off against domestic terrorists, and a ghost of Nathaniel Forrest with demonic powers.
Halloween special-silly. Im all for it
Yeah if they’re going for an all black team they should fight a threat to black people. That would actually make a lot more sense than just a black team for the sake of it. It’s THEIR fight. I’d be totally down for them teaming up to kick the shit out of the KKK
I dont think it can JUST be the KKK, otherwise (a) you are kind of ripping off when Superman did that, only to a lesser degree since Superman actually did cripple the KKK in real life, and I doubt this will hurt any real life white supremacist militias, and (b) suggesting that the KKK by themselves is a problem so great only people who are essentially demigods can face them in combat gives those people too much credit.
If this is just the catharsis of these four supremely powerful people beating the shit out of white robed motherfuckers, like if every enemy in a Dynasty Warriors game was a Karen, thats fine. But if it needs to be an actual problem, we need stuff like ancient demons of hate and prejudice, and backing from corrupt politicians, to justify why Luke Cage couldnt just wander theough and just punch them all in the head, while never being in danger.
Stuff that shows that they are not strong enough, or smart enough, to naturally wield dominance, but can only gain power through a corrupt system. Or the forces of hell, whatever works.
Yeah I’m just saying vampires doesn’t really make sense for only black heroes to fight. So the KKK would be a better choice in any form
Ah, right. Yeah, it makes sense for them to fight the KKK, it just needs to be the KKK, plus some other group thst is giving them enough power to face against demigods.
Monica doesn't fit in with them at all
We have no idea what level of power she is at in the MCU.
So far, she survived being thrown to the ground, and through several houses. Any of the others could tank that.
Blade is absolutely going to be in the MCU. In the comics, Photon is analogous to Captain Marvel, but you have nothing to support that being true for the MCU.
I like the idea of Colter and Parris in a thing together. That would work.
I didnt know who he was either then i looked him up. Really interesting backstory and i love that southern voodoo culture anyways.
And he was kinda referenced in Dr. Strange
Brother Voodoo doesn't sound racist at all .....
Yeah the name is a bit of a relic, but he hasn’t been called Brother Voodoo in years. He’s Doctor Voodoo now and it’s been that way since he became Sorcerer Supreme (and got his doctorate).
I love the note “and got his doctorate “ lolololol Yes! Make them put some respect on your name!!!! They call me DOCTOR Voodoo!
I didn't go to evil medical school to be called frickin Mr Evil
I feel like I read something fairly recently, that called him Brother Voodoo, pretty sure it had Electra, Wolverine, Punisher, maybe Venom oh and Conin? I would have to dig in my comic boxes to find it. I stopped reading after like issue 2. Point being I think they called him Brother and not Doctor.
That line up is from Savage Avengers! Pretty neat series, if you ask me.
I can't tell if you're joking.
he’s not, that happened
I honestly never heard of this character. Just looked him up, looks very much like Spawn lol.
Yeah, but that's an easy fix; just ditch the body paint & collar.
This is honestly the first time I’d seen him called Brother Voodoo, like the other user mentioned it’s been changed now.
He’s Doctor Voodoo now and everything I’ve read has had him teamed up or interacting with Doctor Strange.
Edit - looks like the change was made in 2009
I read up on his backstory as id never heard of him. still super interesting lol.
New Orleans is one of my favorite places
Totally laughable. Black Panther wouldn't ever just call black people to help him...
While normally I'd agree, I think it makes perfect sense for the characters chosen. Luke Cage can't be bitten. Blade is a vampire slayer. Brother Voodoo is experienced with mystical crap.
Monica, on the other hand, makes no sense at all. Give us Storm instead.
Monica makes perfect sense, I think. Her comic power is to be able to turn into different forms of light and electromagnetic radiation, right? Perhaps maybe she could create/simulate sunlight in a way that could kill vampires
also would imagine she can't really get bit
Especially since Brother Voodoo is supposedly showing up in Doctor Strange 2. Plus Blade is coming soon.
Aside from Blade, all of these characters currently exist in the MCU. Luke Cage in the Netflix shows, Doctor Voodoo was being built up in Cloak & Dagger (as a genderbent version named Evita Fusilier, but also Jericho's twin brother Daniel died in Doctor Strange, which is his catalyst in the comics for becoming Doctor Voodoo), and now we have Monica.
Throw in Cloak, who's based in N'awlins, and we got a badass team.
Whatever happened to Mahershala Ali as Blade?
He hasn't appeared yet. His movie's not coming out for a few years.
Man, Cloak & Dagger was hard to get through
I personally liked it a lot. It definitely hit some rocky road in its sophomore season, but the first season was definitely way more solid than say, Runaways. Which didn't even hit the ground running until Season 2.
Pretty sure this is from an actual comic. Memories a little hazy as I think it’s maybe a decade old but I definitely recall Blade, BP, Monica and maybe Voodoo and Cage fighting vampires.
When I think of Marvel and Halloween vibes, I think of the Howling Commandos: Werewolf by Night, Blade, The Living Mummy, Frankenstein’s Monster - what a cool team
Look at all the normies going on about brother Voodoo lol
Also shout out to the time Black Panther recruited a bunch of black heroes to keep white people out of Harlem and return segregation to the neighborhood in what must probably be [the fastest canceled comic book in history](https://comicbook.com/marvel/news/black-panther-and-the-crew-canceled/).
Lol well im a islander myself. Ill watch anything lol
uh, first I don't think it was about that at all, second I don't think that the story had much to do with why it was cancelled lol, third this is definitely not close to the fastest cancelled comic in history lol
> I don't think it was about that at all
No, I was making a comedic exaggeration - but what I didn't exaggerate is Black Panther & friends' non-stop bitching about how white people ruined Harlem and they're better off leaving it to black people.
And is there a comic that was cancelled faster than 2 issues in? I can't think of any from the big 2, at least not in the recent few decades.
New Orleans. Even though he and Tandy left there, no reason Tyrone couldn't come back for a bit.
Do it Marvel!
am i the only one who kinda hates the trope of "put all the black characters in an black populated american urban suburb"? I liked the universe traveling in the ultimates a lot more, let be more out there imo, maybe places alternate realms, i just want good, weird, zany stories, i loved the one where black panther and a few other black superheroes fought vampires imo
I dont care much for the trope myself but this is a setting and a culture i do love that’s near and dear to my heart.
How is no one mentioning Cloak and Evita?! Tilda Stokes would also be in this. Add Black Talon and Bushmaster to boot and you got yourself a gumbo.
Black Panther, Photon, Blade, Luke Cage, War Machine, and Captain America (Sam) would be a blast to see working together!
I'd love this. With these characters it would actually make a lot of sense too.
pandering? to stop a vampire outbreak in New Orleans, Black Panther recruits: Monica Rambeau and Brother Voodoo (the two superheroes from New Orleans who are right there) as well as Luke Cage (unbreakable skin, can't get bitten) and Blade (the vampire hunter).
Man this is the most lib safari piece of media I have seen
Lol have you been personally attacked?
No(? Not in any way
You sure? You got emotionally disturbed enough at the thought of an all black cast to voice your disapproval
You must realize at this point in time most comics have a more progressive narrative than not. If that doesn't float you boat I'm curious how you got here in the first place.
I just think the inclusion of "all-black" in the description is unnecessary. Its a superhero movie, who the fuck cares about the race of the characters. Pointing it out is weird
Again, have you been personally attacked?
Your statement is ironic, YOU *obviously* care and are **bothered**.
Man you are unnecessarily aggressive. Im not bothered, nor I care. I guess you are assuming I'm some sort of coservative racist nut or something. I just pointed out how including the race of the characters on a superhero movie is weird
Not at all, but if the shoe fits homie...
This post is referencing the New Orleans Harbor Patrol, a comic that was produced back in 06-07. Not a movie... Don't worry, it's not being shoved down your raceless reality where everyone is treated equally and a comic like that doesn't need to exist.
>Don't worry, it's not being shoved down your raceless reality where everyone is treated equally and a comic like that doesn't need to exist.
Bro wtf are you talking about
>I just think the inclusion of "all-black" in the description is unnecessary. Its a superhero movie, who the fuck cares about the race of the characters. Pointing it out is weird.
What is being referenced in this post is a comic that ran back in 2006-2007. Not a movie. Race was a pivotal point of that storyline. It's not being put on the big screen, so your worries are unwarranted (though a movie like that would be awesome.)
Why does addressing the race of the characters bring you frustration / displeasure / discomfort / annoyance?
Well i mean, i dont like politics. I just enjoy the actress, the Blade Movies and going to New Orleans to eat my weight in foods
Equality at its best.
Sounds like only people who agree with you are 'real viewers'.
They don’t have to agree with me all the time. I know most of these people are genuine fans, there’s plenty of characters that we all love. This is part of the fun, people looking to troll, that isn’t fun for anyone
lol, you said anyone who doesn't like Iron Fist isn't a 'real viewer'. Calling that out isn't trolling, lol
No I didn’t, I said I like iron fist, I said I don’t need critics to tell me who I like, or what shows or movies to watch. What are you looking for trouble for. I guess you don’t like iron fist, ok, than focus on what you do like, it’s a marvel sub, not really a place for conflict
