wow… no words

With my luck a bunch of those little buggers would come unhooked and stick me in various places.
Just because something can be done doesn't mean it should.
Nothing like the heartbreak of one of your safety pins from your beaded safety pin bracelet opening up, and those beads go everywhere. Ah, middle school.
"Oh yes now it's all "ooooo", "aaaaaaah", but then later there's running, and screaming..."
Don’t wear that to the airport haha
This made me think of when it was super trendy to make safety pin bracelets. Bonus points if you decorated with beads.
If I had that many red safety pins, and time on my hands...I'd be inclined to do something as equally odd, if only to contain them.
That's a mess load of safety pins...
😳 but why a shirt?!
OMG I said the same thing while I watched the video...but why indeed?
Why build a giant baseball bat? Why stick cars nose down in the dessert? Art happens where it must. And there is a long rich record of artists using humble, ordinary materials to make everyday objects into fantastical works. The artist challenges assumptions of all kinds.
Thank you for this. For some reason I momentarily forgot that modern art is a thing lol!
Hahaha that was the first thing to come into my head as well. Glad I’m not alone!
To all the people asking why- it's not made to be a wearable without a doubt. Just a form of expression, like any other art.
I mean, "why" is still a totally valid question
They were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, that they didn't stop to think if they should.
My answer to "why?" would be "why not?"
I can think of a great many reasons why not XD
yeah sometimes u just have to do it
Interesting! This makes me think of project runway challenges that use materials from non-fabric store
This reminds me of stringing popcorn at Christmas for garland. It takes A LOT of popcorn to wrap around the tree. But that was before our hands were busy with phones and tablets, so it was no big deal to sit for hours at night doing it watching TV.
This is so true! I have to remind myself sometimes that I DO have time for things if I put my phone down. I'm not on it a crazy amount of time, but I could be reading, crafting, cleaning or whatever during that time.
I don’t know why there is so much hate I think this is awesome! It’s a really cool art piece I admire the work and ingenuity here
I'm not hating but I am a little bit confused. I think it's a wonderful piece of art.
I'm not sure I'd do it, but I love the finished piece
I love this girl’s videos! I found them randomly, they’re so intriguing to me though…so many shinies
One day I’m going to retire and make random crazy shit like this just because I can.
It kind of reminds me of a cockscomb flower. But that “yarn” would probably be cool to weave with.
This is incredible!!
I want to touch the yarn so much
Some people are so talented it’s insane
Did she mainly use one stick at a time with her hands doing the knitting, then transfer to the other stick? I suppose that would help with gauge and keep pressure even on the pins. I would like to see the knitting process in real time.
Frikkin impressive! And who hasn't had a bad case of the I wonder if I can's?
Omg her whole account is like that.
I have so many questions and all of them are WHY?
where did she get the red ones
I can see that making a very interesting piece of art to be displayed, like a wall hanging, but I would never want to wear that!
Thanks I hate it.
Seems so wasteful, all that plastic to no use. I know it’s art, but it feels so unnecessay. In the middle of a climate crisis and in our time of plastic pollution.
Aren't safety pins metal?
I just assumed plastic because I’ve never seen red metal pins. Either way, it’s wasteful. Production and recycling of metal takes resources, coal, energy, too. Our recourses are finite and we should all lessen our consumption, and this kind of consumption seems wasteful and unnecessary.
Agreed, it’s sad. But where we’re heading is beyond scary. The way we live is going to change, and I feel immense sadness over that. And sometimes these clips - be it art or be it crazy stuff for likes and lols - feels a bit provocative.
I was just thinking of all the pretty yarn that I could have bought with what she spent on thousands of paper clips.
Anything for a like i guess.
🙄 those needles look flat too long for her “project”
In really hoping that you were attempting a joke, and it fell flat.
why is project in quotes lol
At the moment I was questioning what makes something a project. It’s definitely a project but I still wonder why.
