Boardwalk Blouse - bonus dog
By - casualknits
That's such a cute blouse, thanks for making me aware of the pattern!
I would have never thought of using a crazy teal color like this, but with the pink it's a perfect look-at-and-be-happy combination.
What’s funny is I’ve had the teal yarn for a while, grabbed it out of a sale bin and then regretted buying it because I couldn’t figure out how I’d ever use it besides a random pair of socks or something. Then when I was going through my stash with this pattern in mind I remembered the pink yarn (local dyer near me so I keep a lot of her colors in mind lol) and remembered the teal speckles and thought it could work. I thought the teal speckles would pop a little more but they don’t unless you’re close up, but I do really think it works!! :)
I love that you keep your local dyers colors "in mind" I'm always keeping all the colors "in stash" which is quite overwhelming!
Hahahaha it’s like 50/50 in mind/in stash :)
I feel that sooo much!
Pattern is Boardwalk Blouse by Poison Grrls. Pink yarn is Museum of Play by Megs Yarn & Co, Teal is Breeze by Spun Right Round.
This pattern has been in my queue for ages! So excited to wear it around this summer :)
Very pretty. Good job!
Great color combo and perfect fit.
Now I wanna make one just like it. Adding to the already lengthy queue...
Do it! Let’s have matching shirts!! Haha. I made between a s/m, they add instructions for how to alter sizes. Also if you follow pattern designers instagrams or join email newsletters they have pattern sales every so often
Thanks for the tip. I don't think I've followed them yet, but I do like a number of their patterns.
I have some fingering weight yarn in a similar color to that blue/teal.
Ooh this is lovely!!!
I can always appreciate a bonus dog or cat :) beautiful work too!
Doggo luffs you
This is awesome! Love the color choices.
Beautifully done! Awesome work and the yarns and colours sing together, no wonder you have a lovely canine admirer, you look wonderful in it, great work!
Thank you so much! I was afraid of this pattern for a while because of the tight gauge, I use sock yarn a lot but usually with bigger needles. This used a 2! But it wasn’t bad at all. Actually my current project which is dk yarn but a cotton blend is hurting me more than then tiny gauge with wool.
Going to look up what a ‘2’ is in mm, but looks stunning. Am even more impressed as I can only really make socks as yet and haven’t tried other garments, but this is awesome. I love the look of fine knits with small needles, they always look more together, chic and professional somehow, and that fact you did this without too much pain is a testimony to your talents, and perhaps you just work naturally better with smaller needles.. everyone has their thing! I love the yarn name you chose and you have a great colour sensibility. Enjoy!
2.75 mm! Thanks <3 things do look really chic with the small yarn and needles but they take so much longer haha but it’s worth it once in a while. I have only made 2 pairs of socks and they were fun but I don’t have the sock addiction others have... yet haha maybe if I run out of sweater ideas I’ll go down the sock rabbit hole :)
Oh thanks, good to know! 2.75 mm is a favourite size, it makes a beautiful fabric and 2.75 needles feel nice to work with even if takes ages to make things! Go well with your lovely work, cheers!
Thank you :)
It looks awesome! Great colour combination too. Well done!
Ooh, I love this! That color combo is 🔥
Knit matching ones for the goodests
Also, I’ve been considering making this pattern for awhile, and your project has officially sold me. Thank you!
I recommend :) it’s a different silhouette and neckline than many other knit tops which I liked!
You have a lovely top AND a lovely dog. Well done!
Bonus bonus: dog tongue. Best bonus
Adorable dog, lovely blouse, win all around!
What a cute top! Excellent work! Thanks for sharing and making me aware of the pattern!
