If you like fresh scents why don’t you check out Elizabeth Arden, her perfumes are very fresh and a fraction of the price. Granted they don’t last either but most fresh smells don’t,

mahboilucas

I didn't know it's a fresh smell trait. I'll look into the brand. I have never heard of it. Maybe in the future I'll buy some but for now I'll stick to my search of long lasting scents :) thanks for the recommendation!

greenbagmaria

Sure sure, I recommend their Green Tea. It’s so cheap but smells amazing. I heard it was created by the same perfumer that made Bacarrat Rouge. Another recommendation is their Sunflowers. They’re less known that’s why I love them, not everyone at work would have ER

Hmm, how about saving up for J'Adore instead? That way, you get the bottle you truly want. I think the wait would be worth it for something that is your absolute favourite, as opposed to... well, settling for something that you can purchase immediately for instant gratification.

mahboilucas

I don't have that amount sadly. The gift card covers the Daisy perfume if they're on sale (I have to add some but not too much). J'adore doesn't go on sale as far as I know (at least the shop I have a gift card for. If it does it's something like 5% but I'll keep checking in the future if anything changes) and I just can't justify such costs on a student budget. Maybe in the future. I promised myself it will be my wedding perfume which ultimately will make it a very special scent. My mom has one like that. Edit; and it's about instant gratification. I do like those smells, don't get me wrong. It's the goal perfume but not the only one I like. I am content with having favourites and those I just enjoy. Daisy is the closest favourite to J'adore I have but the longevity sucks a bit

hauteburrrito

Ah, gotcha; fair enough. I agree that Eau Intense is much sweeter than the regular Daisy but as others have noted, there are multiple flankers, although Eau Intense is really the only one I know of that lasts. You could try Marc Jacobs Perfect if you enjoyed Daisy, as it is also a bit more grown-up but lasts decently well.

mahboilucas

I'll definitely do so! Thank you. Can I ask about testers (those in little tubes) in the store? I have never done so with perfume and I don't know if it's possible but I hear people talking about the notes you smell only after a while and I would be curious to do so without actually spraying myself in the store

hauteburrrito

Sephora offered samples pre-pandemic but I'm not so sure about now, although it's worth asking. Department stores are a little more open about it now where I am, but I'm not sure which ones carry Marc Jacobs Perfect as department store counters tend to run a little more expensive overall as well. I might go on a day where it's relatively calm and prepare to test maybe four fragrances - you can do one spritz on each inner wrist and each elbow crook. Your nose may still get a little muddled, but that'd probably be the best balance between pinpointing some scents over time and efficiency.

mahboilucas

Oh I'll try the elbows. I didn't think of them. Usually it's me and my two wrists only. For our department stores I would be sure they don't do such. I was mostly guessing Sephora, Douglas, Notino - those are my local ones that I know give you those little sample tubes when you purchase something. I'll try requesting it in Sephora and see how it goes. I've successfully gotten foundation samples (not testers, my bad for the previous wording) in the past.

hauteburrrito

No worries; I understood what you meant! Happy hunting - I hope the testing goes well and you find the perfect fragrance for you.

My girlfriend, also 22, has daisy twinkle and I adore it on her, so I would try that, too

mahboilucas

I've never heard of it. Does it last long? The only issue I've had with the standard daisy is the longevity. I'll check it out

Random_Name_7

Hard to pintpoint, since it isn't mine and my girl doesn't obsessively test her stuff like I do. But I'd say a solid 6h longevity with average projection the first 2h is what I've noticed

mahboilucas

Oh, I was just checking it out online but I can't find many reviews. Seems to be one of those less marketed ones? I'm not even sure if I've seen it in stores here because I couldn't recall the color. But I will look for it given a chance to smell it in person since it sounds cute
