What do you do after you finish the game?
By - Ox_of_Dox
"Finish"? I do not understand this word in the context of FO4 :P
Really though, I enjoy building settlements whenever I fire up FO4. Settler pathing can be a pain at times, but I just love seeing my own little community come to life.
Sim settlements 2. Nothing quite like showing up at your settlement to find a giant Roberto the stabbing robot statue, and reading the latest news, written by a supermutant.
How do you use sim settlements without getting massive frame drops in the triangle of death?
An interesting question.
I had this *baaad* tendency to keep upping the settlement build limit. Which ready hit hard when traveling to those... interesting areas.
So I don't have an answer that I know works, as I haven't been doing any settlement building for a bit now.
But I might have an answer. This playthrough, I loaded up a texture replacement mod that is apparently popular... 38k endorsements on nexus. There are many settings, and a couple of them are "make the game run better" settings.
I added it mid run on my current run. Since doing that, I haven't seen one bad stutter. I even found myself running like hell, realized I was next to that asinine building that you can only get to by the little trolly. This is the place I usually stutter like hell.
No stutter. Huh.
I'm keeping an eye on it, but so far so good.
I'm waiting for the gunners expansion to sim settlements 2, then after giving them a month to work out the obvious kinks, I'm gonna made a new run just for that. I suppose we will see then.
If you want the name of the mod, let me know. I'm not home right now and can't look it up, but when I get home tonight, I don't mind doing that. After all, I found out about it because someone mentioned it here...
Yeah I’d like the name
"Vivid Fallout". I'm using the first one there I think, the simplest. I just wanted to see if it worked, I wasn't worried about the crispest details. Not at first at least. I might have to pump it up later.
I gave up worrying about the pathing, so long as beds get assigned. Built one of my raider outposts at murkwater which was fun. Ended up just putting everything up in the air on two huge platforms.
You guys don’t break your game with mods and restart fresh every other week? LOL I haven’t beaten the game in like 2 years due to my vicious cycle
Damn a fellow cycle-er
I’ve done it too many times I’m trying to break the cycle by actually playing the game with some mods and adding simple ones that won’t break the game. And if I ever want to start a new playthrough I make a new mo2 instance
Same here. I just started a normal save no mods and I resorted to essential mods. Examples would be encounter zone recalculation for enemy scaling and Boston FPS fix as well as high FPS fix.
Yeah modding is invetiable so you may as well go all out to make *your* perfect fallout
I, too, have engaged in this self-destructive behavior.
Dr. Nicks never gets old.
Rub one out
Yep, after you finish the game you finish yourself
Champagne of victory
And make Nick watch
Literally my same answer, but with a little less crying yourself to sleep. 🤣
I build up outpost and equip all my provisioners with heavy combat armor and legendary weapons. Its cool seeing friendlies while walking around kicking ass on some mutants. If that gets boring for you start over with a new build/play style and a new faction. Early to mid game FO4 is just so fun.
You mean there are ppl out there that actually finish the main quest. Something always happens to my game before I can finish the main quest and I end up starting over
Same, I've had 20 characters but only finished the main story 6 times
Had the game since release and never got done with it
This game is never "finished"
True. Usually for me I see a new mod that I want to try out with a fresh play.
Well, it does get to a point where all that's left is running around fighting or doing radiant quests. I'm always looking for new quest mods though. Just started Tales.
Baby theres like hundreds of sidequest
Why few years after youll never met someone saying "I 100% Fallout 4" ? As skyrim, its unfinishable
Play the DLC's until I feel nothing getting a level because perks are maxed. I start asking myself why I'm even looting anymore. The sense of progression is gone at this point. Uninstall.
I usually go for an 1man apocalypse run. Which means I kill everyone and everything I see
Yeah I’ve had the game for 3 or 4 years and still have only beaten the game twice because I hate the reunions quest so much
currently i switched over to pc and im trying to play completely without mods so that i can get all the achievements
You could always go get the ones that "just work" of course. I think they let you have those.
I build up my settlements and usually take down the brotherhood
Right on, same here.
I blew it up with the Brotherhood (Ad victorium!!) and then I went to Sanctuary Hills to see Paladin Danae and Shawn (the kid I saved). Then I gave Paladin Danae his armor back, saved and shut off the game. Sat there in disbelief that I was actually done.”, then started cheering like crazy, then drank a zero calorie Coke and did 100 push-ups and sit-ups because I was so fired up.
I think in the past I regularly check with Preston or Freedom Radio about settlements in distress just find an excuse to kill more Raiders and shit to keep from getting bored.
Start a new character.
Finish? Ha that's a good one.
On my last run I Roleplayed as the silver shroud killing as many raiders as I can find
This is the right answer
Whack my willy and cry myself to sleep.
I weep, for there are no more worlds to conquer.
i keep playing my main character but for other ones i make a character and romance someone and set up some "lore" for that character, side with someone and beat it then do it all over again
I build up an institute refugee camp settlement.
Make settlements that make sense and work within the world. Shoot stuff with a 45-70.
Celebrate...then get back at it waste lander!!!
Get the DLC or start again with a totally different build
Start a new character and use a completely different build.
