Total beagle move. Well done Copper.

smencer

I’ve never known a beagle that understands how a leash works. They’re the only ones surprised when they end up tangled.

tmlynch

Zero respect for leash physics among beagles.

it_is_impossible

Mines a pocket, but “no, go around” was a command we worked on very early. Worked for me, clearly user mileage may vary.

winedogmom88

“This side” is what my Hugo and I use. It helps.

roenaid

'around the tree' works for one in some instances, but the other just ignores me...

Arthaksha

I know right?

Amhranai930

You have a beautiful beagle and are a brave soul to have them on a retractable leash! :) Mine loved to jump off of things (logs, walking bridges) while wearing his harness. He would look back to see if I was paying attention, jump, tuck his feet and spin at the end of the leash...all while I was panicked and bracing on the other end of the leash. He loved that game, me not so much, but I have to admit his smile when he looked back at me was 100% worth it.

mswendynogard

This is an accurate representation of a beagle

Jonsez

My Lucy also loves to go up drains and has to check everyone out she finds, they must smell good?

Equivalent_Spend_446

Looks about right…..

shes_frantastic

Just had to untangle mine from a bunch of reeds near the creek by our house. She loves to weave in-between them like a maze!

crlast86

🤣 Definitely something my Sherlock would do

matcha_holic06

😂😂😂

Jaded_yank

This is absolutely classic

cupthings

might be unpopular opinion but retractable leashes are Dangerous. ask any vet they see a lot of these causing injuries to dogs

Beagles-R-us

When my dog was a pup she took off after a duck and wrapped around my ankle, giving me one of the worst burns I’ve ever had. Still have a scar years later!

winedogmom88

My friend’s Maltese got around me. Over a decade ago! Cut and burned. Nice slice scar across my right calf.

fxpstclvrst

I keep a sharp eye out when using any leash, but doubly so with a retractable leash.

Aarronk22

Any lead can be dangerous when you're not paying attention..

cupthings

yes but the statistics for injuries are higher with retractable leashes, just mainly because they retract and allow your dog to pull. like i said - unpopular opinion.

winedogmom88

Yup. That’s about right

True-Bee1903

That is prime Beagle!

Mr_DV

When did you walk my dog?

roenaid

Yes!!! This!!!! X 2.... My legs are mangled from untangling them from undergrowth.... And everything else we walk by...

winedogmom88

Lol. This is why I use a 4’ leash when I have to. Let him off leash as much as possible
