Hmmm. I wonder why this outer fence is here
Idk man, but you should come and feel this big cat OwO
Unlike *you* cowards, I’m not scared and will go and pet it. It’s used to people! Nothing will happen. I’m very fast.
Famous last words
*Arms unplugged voices
/waiting for u/DeaconNuno’s mauling video next
People who are afraid are snowflakes
About as fast as a cabbage with a tasty hand.
I have held a lion cub at a shady Mexican tourist attraction
They are not as soft as they look
It's kind of like petting a wire brush
3/10 do not recommend
The fence actually makes it more dangerous.
Everyone knows that if a liion grabs onto you, you need to massage its testicles. It'll let go almost immediately once you start kneading.
This way, you can't reach its crotch. That could cause a very tragic outcome.
I can't tell if you are joking.
Guess who’s going to the zoo now!
I’m waiting for some idiot to try this now.
Lion here, he's right, tickle my balls
Another thing I have in common with lions
In an effort to possibly give the benefit of the doubt to them, I can understand not being cautious around a big cat. My little house kitty can be completely uninterested in me regardless of what in doing. Walking past her, looking her in the eye, my hand where it should never be, and she behaves the same.
Some seemingly random combination and she wants to butcher me while I'm left reeling in confusion. Could pets kitty the same way 10000x times and she seems to like it but the 100001 time she wants to taste my liver.
my favorite moment with cats is when you're petting them and then they start looking at you and the head starts to slowly go sideways and you can just tell the inner meter for petting pleasure is dropping from 100 to 0 as the murder you meter is swiftly escalating from 0 to 100. Knowing that moment to withdraw is critical.
To use as a stepping stool too get closer duh.. Now let's pet the big kitty cat.
[For those of you who want to see the whole video](https://youtu.be/h8Y10qx3liE)
[Huh. I wonder who that’s for. ](https://imgur.com/gallery/j3QcB7J)
This is terribly sad.
How’s the lion going to get a full meal without him in the enclosure?
Few years back in Quebec city Canada there was this small local zoo that closed to the public but remained open to care for the animals until the die of old age. One night, a drunk moron and his friends broke in and got into a bears habitat. The bears sampled his arm meat and decided to keep ot for later. Police got called and a few surgery later, the moron minus his left arm was on TV demanding that the bear get killed because he tasted flesh. I remember the zoo owner saying of course hes dangerous to human its a 750 pounds black bear. Were not going to kill him for that, hes just dangerous to morons breaking in his habitat.
I like that point of view. The lion was always dangerous hes a lion. Dont blame him for doing Darwins work
It's not like they had plans to let the animal out of its enclosure any time in the future. It's not all that hard to keep the animals separated from the zookeepers, or they could provide the zookeepers with [anti-bite suits](https://neptunic.com/products/sharksuits) - a great white shark can bite with about 4 times the force of what a lion can.
Always having a barrier between human and animal is called protected contact in zoos, and it's standard practice for a large male lion.
>they could provide the zookeepers with anti-bite suits
From the site "Neptunic's NeXt Generation Sharksuit is the most technologically advanced suit built today. Incorporating the latest fabrication techniques available in stainless steel mesh"
I fully support all zookeepers getting medieval armor.
I thought the problem was that if you turned your back lions will snap your neck? Or did I misunderstand the threat?
They're wild animals, not [super villains](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpzWZri8knw).
But seriously, you're right that they do tend to [try and bite the throat or break the neck.](https://www.krugerpark.co.za/Kruger_National_Park_Wildlife-travel/kruger-park-wildlife-lions.html)
How useful are anti-bite suits against neck breaks? Is there enough reinforcement that they can't quite turn the neck far enough?
I love how I'm asking these questions even though I'm 100% certain I will never want to be anywhere close to anything that requires me to wear the bite suit lol
No they won't. It's in a controlled environment. If people line up to get eaten by a lion, that's on those idiots
Its not that they develop a taste for human flesh, its that the realise that humans are easy prey. My uncle is a game ranger in SA, the area he covers is the southern part of the Kruger National park and outlying areas. According to him, once a lion, leopard etc first kills a human they have to put it down cause it will never stop. Even if they do not kill a human, but the native’s cattle or goats. Its about easy prey and they do not have to work hard to locate, chase and kill the prey. Also, once a lion has first killed a human they get bolder and lose their fear of humans, some even as bold as walking into the villiage in broad daylight and snatching a kid away. For anyone that has not seen a lion take down an animal, its brutal. Sometimes they start feeding before the animal, or god forbid human, is still alive. The old movie “The ghost and the darkness” is pretty close to being correct….
Wow is that a thing?? Animals developing a taste for humans??
this would be a case of “i heard this is true from some guy that told me that his friend worked at a zoo and that is what happens.” jesus christ people. don’t believe everything you hear. they don’t “get a taste for humans”.
This myth stems from the tradition of hunting down and killing animals as revenge for harming a human. One day someone probably asked, "why do we have to kill it? It was just a stupid animal," and this was the excuse they gave.
LOL seriously “oh no, now he is gonna try to eat every idiot who sticks his arm through the cage…..whatever shall we do?!’?!”
We don’t taste that good.
Animals aren’t killing us to eat us, they’re usually biting us in self defence, territoriality or generally because we’re pissing them off. In cases where animals are killing humans for food it’s usually desperation because we’ve encroached on their territory and wiped out other food sources which is 100% not the case in zoos.
Probably more like "oh! so I can eat those". Not sure, though. I have no knowledge.
That's what I always assumed the phrase meant. It's not like they develop some insatiable love of human meat.
Mmm mmm mmmmm loves me some long pig…. *the lion probably.
I was a fan of Jim Corbett books back when I was a kid (famous hunter in India about a century ago) and according to him, this can happen. Specially in older and less abled predators. If you can't run fast, hard to chase down a deer. A cow in captivity is easier kill. A puny human easiest.
I think people today don't realize that we are terrible "apex predators". We're weak, slow, have no protective fur or dangerous claws. The only advantages we have over most of our competition for top of the food chain is our inventive, imaginative brains, opposable thumbs, and our ability to just ....go...and go...and go, forrrr-evvvv-errrr.
Our ancestors survived monsters like these big cats and worse by teaching them one very sharp lesson: if you mess with a human, or God forbid one of our children, we will find you, we will kill you, and then we'll do the same to all of your friends. Go find someone else to eat.
It's not. Dangerous animals are generally worked protected contact and nobody enters their space with them. I actually know of some grizzlies at a zoo that have eaten a person before and nobody has any issue with it.
A wild animal with a taste for people or is otherwise dangerous too stay in situ may actually get moved to a zoo if it's rare enough (I know a Malayan Tiger who did this).
Nope. The animal is gonna be kept alive to bring in more visitors for money. When they feed animals they have special engineered contraption and procedures to keep animal and human separate in these cases. Sucks he had to get a rubber bullet to the side for an idiot.
This isn't a zombie movie the animal isn't going to get an insatiable taste for humans you fool. It's a predator we were always pray. It will eat what it can get.
Doesn’t look like the kind of place that follows the rules so maybe not.
Hopefully they didn't put the cat down for his stupidity
Looks like rock salt, which would hurt like a mother fucker but a cat that big won’t care.
“Seasoning! Just what this hand needed.”
EY human! Bring over the Pepper gun now wontcha!
You can see if the video it looks like a gun is fired at the lion and it almost does nothing, idk if it was a tranq gun or a normal one but the dude is not letting go of that hand lmfao
Edit: It was apparently being pelted with rocks and that was what the dust was. Sorry for not being fluent in what gun shots or tranq shots hitting an animal looks like. Thanks to u/thesaddestpanda for pointing that out
About the 7 second mark.
It's hard to tell what it is. In my head it seems like someones just throwing a drink or something similar at it.
It does seem to move pretty fast so I'm not really sure though.
yes, it looks more like the splash of 'water' than anything else.......
The article says bystanders were pelting this poor animal with stones the whole time. At the 7 second mark the lion is hit in the face with a stone. Thankfully, it wasn't shot.
There are more stupid people on earth than lions.
Shoot the man...
Just.. why.. I don't even need bars or signs to tell me to stay back. I have millions of years of instincts for that
You’d be amazed at just how many idiots are truly out there in this world. Makes driving on the road everyday scarier the more you think about it.
In the old days the stupid ones died young, now that they're coddled they live to adulthood.
Darwinism has become a myth, unfortunately.
Apparently someone needs it...and hooked on phonics
Hooked on phonics... Lol been a long time since I heard that
What a flashback, right?
Finger licking good
Lol, Have you seen lion's tongue? There won't be any finger left if he licked.
Tongue aside, have you seen the videos of them playing tug of war against multiple people? I'm surprised that dudes hand didn't just rip right off
Lion is toying with him, could totally rip his arm off if he really wanted
The camera man also toying with him, more important getting his video than getting some help or spraying some water on the kitty.
I could swear I saw that arm stretch.
For sure I saw that too. That arm is dislocated and probably severe brachial plexus injury
Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow.
S A N D P A P E R
Hopefully they were able to recue this person. So they could then throw his dumb ass in over the fence.
I’d like to send the ending. Who’s to say… that may have occurred and they just cut it off.
If it's only a trailer. I'll gladly pay $12.99 for the rest of the video
Finally an onlyfans worth purchasing
>So they could then throw his dumb ass in over the fence.
Apparently he worked at the zoo
What a cancerous website on mobile. I cant read 2 sentences without ads or unrelated videos breaking up the article.
Dailymail is the worst news outlet out there you can find
Welcome to the Daily Mail
This should be higher
Only important part: “Eventually the man hits the beast on the head with his left hand and his right hand is released from the lion's jaw. “
“Other footage shows video of him provoking the lion before the attack.”
Is also important.
Full video here https://youtu.be/USeY-8jjv_Q
It’s a Mortal Kombat reference.
Lion was just trying to play. I call Friendship.
The real joke 🤣
Stop playing with that cat we gota go...
Lions vs cowboys.
Lions are in control.
I’ve got to hand it to the guy. He really handled the situation at hand as best as he could
The cops wanna know who put his hand in the cage I think they'll catch this guy redhanded
technically the lion was caught red handed
Caught red handed and armed lol
Man I hope his mom back handed him for being so reckless
He shouldn't be handing out his limbs like that
I mean someone should lend him a hand..but you know
Well yeah, considering that he was being disarmed.
You ain’t lion
He did something else.. But i can't quite put my finger on it
Very handily made puns.
That looks stretched AF.
On today's episode of fuck around and find out. You don't need to pet everything
I like the one guy just watching. That’s me. Not giving a single fuck because dumb shit stuck his hand inside the cage. Grab the popcorn!
I don’t get what goes thru there heads when they reach in there
Guessing something like…”wanna pet da kitty…wanna pet da kitty…” on repeat.
Is the Lion okay!?
I blame Carol Baskins.
Carol fuckin’ Baskins smh
Her treachery knows no bounds.
Can’t tell which is the bigger pussy
Where’s the full video
People don't seem to comprehend that these fences are for THEIR protection
holy fuck, that lion needs a bigger cage
That's a really depressingly small cage.
I was just waiting for the arm to get ripped off
Me too. It’s like he didn’t know the strength of one of the biggest felines in the world. Like what are they teaching people nowadays man 🤣
That petting zoo sucks!
I'm actually surprised that for the entire length of that video, his arm stayed attached.
I hope they don't put the cat down after this. If anything they should put that clown down.
What did he expect ? A meow ?
Why would you do something like this and not have a spray bottle around????
Or one of those gadgets that shines the red light for the cat to chase.
...a laser pointer?
It should just be instinctual not to stick your hand in a fucking lion cage
Lion. "Hey! Could you give me a hand?"
Guy. "Sure fella!"
Lol he popped his nose like it was a regular kitten, what an idiot
Oh man whoever owns that zoo can go fuck themselves
He got it back.
Thanks for the link. OP found the crappiest video link to post.
Just let the poor lion have the arm
Rip his stupid fucking arm off.
Did anyone else think this was a chimp or a monkey at first glance and not a person?
I took about 10sec to realise the odd shaped monkey was actually a normal shaped dumbass.
Oh good, wasn't just me....definitely thought it was a chimp in a coat!
"Chimp or man" is going to be the new "blue & black or white & gold dress" internet phenomenon.
I can see this going very wrong almost immediately
Yes… yes I did
Why are you downvoted
Stretch arm strong. Anyone have that toy???
Amazing video. The guy boops the lions nose haha. Also the lion is on a slippery surface so it can’t really dig in and rip guys arm off. The man has some good strength to hang on for dear life.
[A bit more of the footage before and after ](https://youtu.be/h8Y10qx3liE)
The longer you hold on the more the flavor comes out
This is strangely satisfying, I hope he learn not to put his hands where it should not be
Poor fucking loin. No wonder it’s letting him have it. Probably the most stimulation it’s had in years trapped in that barren hell scape of a prison. Humans are disgusting
I hope was a Tranquilizer dart shot to poor 🦁.Lion. He doesn’t deserve death cause of a lower insignificant life form….🤨😵💫🥱🙄
Afterwards, I'd have asked: "What's the matter, cat got your hand?"
this shit is why the shampoo has instructions
And yet there is probably some people still in the shower. (Rinse and repeat)
He’s ambidextrous now.
Wow, fresh news, lions WILL eat your arm.
I hope they managed to rescue the lion 🙏😢
“You want me to help you bob?”
“No, just get this on video for Reddit.”
I rly hope the lion didn’t get put down but it probably did which sucks
Taste like chicken
Every time I see these videos I am thankful that I am smart enough that I have never come across a large animal in a cage and thought it would be a good idea to stick my hand in there
Hard to feel bad for anyone like this.
His arm got looooonng
Another Darwin award recipient.
Lion thought he was a Stretch Armstrong.
You pay to play idiot
I remember watching a video of 3 men pulling a rope and losing ground to a lion pulling the other side.. now imagine all that force pulling your arm
I wanted that lion to walk away with a arm.
When this happens, someone should come around with a machete and "free" the trapped human by severing whatever limb they have gotten entangled in the lion. Lion should get to keep his prize.
What complete asshole thought editing this video down to these 13 seconds was all anybody needed?
Wtf happens next???
Look at the comment above your's.
Damnit!!! I wanted to see that arm tear off and the lion start to gnaw on it.
From what I learned on Reddit today, he should try rubbing his toe beans.
Looks like a fun game.
That slap on the nose though lol
Don’t mess with an animal that can kill hippos and solo drag water buffaloes
Dude by the outer fence just enjoying the show!
What a terribly small, unnatural environment to keep a lion in.
I can't be the only one waiting for the speration?...?
I really hope the lion wasn't harmed. Its pisses me off that animals are killed or abused because some stupid human decided to do a stupid thing, let the lion take him, just natural selection
