uh what? Loki is supposed to be around the same age as Thor who is 1500+ years old. Where'd you get that he's supposed to be a teenager or are you suggesting that Odin beat the Frost Giants less than 20 years ago?
I mean in the equivalent of Earth years
I don't think they've ever confirmed if there was a difference between how they count ages for Asgardians and normal humans. And if we're going by that heresy logic, then it's even creepier cause Sleipnir, Odin's 8-legged horse is the offspring of Loki so Loki gave birth to an 8-legged horse as a teenager.
I’m pretty sure it wasn’t confirmed but that horse story is crazy either way 😂
Since when was Loki supposed to be a teenager?
Apparently his Asgardian age is the human equivalent of 17. Him and Thor are very young asgardians, which has never been specified but also makes x1000 more sense when you look at their story.
According to whom?
99% positive it’s just some discourse that generated on the internet and not canon. But I think it’s just an estimate based on the way the characters age etc
That’s what I thought
Meh who cares. They are great in the movies. Why does everything have to match 100% the source material?
It doesn’t have to at all, I honestly love Tom as Loki. I was just wondering because this episode character dynamics really reminded me of the age thing. I’m sure that if becomes somehow relevant we’ll see the actual young Loki.
The idea that MCU Loki is a teen is borne of fanfic and fan sites. If MCU Loki were truly supposed to be 17 in Earth years, they would have cast someone who looked 17 so that the audience would comprehend his youth.
It's not an oversight that they cast a man in his late twenties, done in spite of the age MCU Loki is "supposed" to be. It was a deliberate choice because that *is* the age MCU Loku is supposed to be.
I am someone who loves to read fanfic and fan theories, but we must be careful to distinguish in our minds what is canon and what has simply been written by creative fans.
Until such time as this is explicitly established in-universe in the MCU, it cannot be considered canonical fact.
