This blog post might be of interest to some https://sachachua.com/blog/2020/06/pythonfontforgeorg-i-made-a-font-based-on-my-handwriting/

lesliebug

Idk why I’m so blown away by this but I’m definitely going to try this lol. Thank you for sharing!!! Love your handwriting!!

To anyone looking to do this, TypeTool is awesome and the learning curve is minimal especially if you already know about vectors. I used it to create a typeface for a project a few years back and really liked the program.

kbiittner

Cute! You have such nice writing.

eihpets

I did that too but my writing isn’t as cool as yours. It’s fun to print little notes and have them look like I actually wrote them. Except that the consistency of the typed font is unlike the messy illegibility of my real writing.

isolophobichermit

As a teacher, I love any single-story a!

Dougitougi123

That is absolutely fontastic! Seriously awesome!

Gravity_Rising

Nice idea, and your letterforms have strong character. Here's a thought: what if you had 4 or 5 versions of each letter, and the program randomized the version for each keystroke? This would add variety and make the text appear to be truly handwritten.

It is possible to do something like this I think especially when there's an entire pokemon game made using fonts.

kcalpha

Wow, this is actually a cool idea!

SnooGoats7133

That’s really cool!

clevertulips

Can it do joint-up writing, though?

JaddieDodd

This is called kerning pairs. Type designers do this, so I guess it depends on the software.

Accomplished-Tackle2

I’ve always wanted to do this!!

straight_quavers

Really, really nice. Download link?

FakeButRealAsian

The link to my handwriting font? Or the link to the site?

straight_quavers

The font, if you’re willing to share. Thanks OP

Here you go: [https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1cNjkSH28-2ha2KodInqjMRnKtWWLEZF3?usp=sharing](https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1cNjkSH28-2ha2KodInqjMRnKtWWLEZF3?usp=sharing) Just a warning: my handwriting is a bit small and it's only the (capital) letters. I was supposed to be studying thus didn't do the numbers or anything else.

LalaDeLuz

Looks like link is on 3rd image

ScribbleScrawlSketch

That’s the link to create your own. I believe _quavers wanted the font itself

lizzzzard92

So awesome I love it

raracee

That's awesome

Easy-Angle-4949

Hey, that’s pretty cool!
