Doctor Doom, he who toots.
By - Bumpacart
Oh No, the Trumpet Skeleton has evolved to a more powerful and uncontrolable form
doot doot **DOOM**
That would be a scary sound effect.
Doomsday ever since the womb
'Til I'm back where my brother went
That's what my tomb'l say
Right above my government; "Dumile"
Either unmarked or engraved, hey who's to say?
RIP to the illest villain, all caps when you spell the man name
MF DOOM, SELLING RHYMES LIKE DIMES LIKE A MAD SUPERVILLAIN
doomsday ever since the womb day
Different kind of DOOM but still fits
That's amazing 💀🎺
Ooh, nice, haven't heard that one before. Was expecting [Knee Deep In The Doot (E1M1)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzPpWInAiOg)
As a wise being once said:
'Tis no worth in conversation. A lamb's voice is but mere bleating before the sound of my trumpet, like the falling leaves... What shall cause the downfall? The stars, the Earth, or the world of humans? Now, singest thou to me with the voice of thy soul, that thou might keep the world from ending'
Trumpet Skeleton --> Doctor Doom --> [???](http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/megamitensei/images/d/d6/TrumpeterP4.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20080816172310)
To beat him you must clog the trumpet with something and attack him as he tries to get it out
Top 10 villains Thanos is scared to delete
God Emperor Doom absolutely buttfucked Thanos.
[Ripped his skeleton out on some Mortal Kombat shit.](https://img-9gag-fun.9cache.com/photo/anMOpob_700bwp.webp)
Why is it in every thread related to Marvel I hear about another way Thanos is killed. Like is it some sort of coming of age thing for each character to kill Thanos at least once?
If you want to show off how tough your character is, have them kill an infamously tough character.
Same reason they had Thanos kick the shit out of Hulk without ever activating the Power Stone.
THIS IS A TVTROPES LINK. CLICK AT YOUR OWN RISK. ANY FOUR HOUR RABBIT HOLES YOU FALL DOWN FROM THIS POINT FORWARD ARE YOUR OWN FAULT.
Seriously. I don’t even want to know how many hours I’ve spent on this site. Every time I finish a movie, show, or game I end up there.
I admire your ability to wait until you've finished said movie, show, or game
It was a hard-earned lesson
*3 hours and 24 opened tabs later*: WHAT YEAR IS IT
it's why they had Thanos beat the shit out of Hulk.
The only ones I can think of off hand were Doom and Squirrel Girl, eventho I know there are others. The Squirrel Girl one was obviously a huge joke. This Doom one was during the God Emperor Doom run, not just Doctor Doom. God Emperor Doom is probably one of the most outlandishly overpowered characters there was.
Drax one shot his ass (well, his heart) in Annihilation
And Space Jesus, Adam Warlock. The original savior from the Infinity Gauntlet saga. One of the biggest missed opportunities of the MCU so far, not capitalizing on that teaser at the end of Guardians 2 and bringing Adam into the movies for Infinity War.
And everyone's favorite Deadpool, who went back and forth with him for four comics and then hosted a godly being into himself and kicked the shit out of Thanos. The edgelord nerd inside of me dreams of Deadpool having fought in Endgame, and taken the gauntlet and snapped the whole MCU into absolute fucking chaos.
Didn’t deadpool once kill the entire mcu by killing a comic writer or something? Or maybe that was a What If or something
The Deadpool has done it all. As dumb/goofy as the character is, I absolutely love how well they blend his ridiculousness into comics and the breaking of the fourth wall.
Probably the single biggest gripe I have with the MCU is not having the entanglement of Lady Death, Thanos and Deadpool. It works so perfectly, and explains so much about their behavior, motivations and powers.
Thanos is in love with Death. Literally, and figuratively. Deadpool is as well. To prevent Deadpool from ever dying and impressing Lady Death, Thanos curses Deadpool with immortality. Then to gain the Lady's favor, Thanos seeks to annihilate half of all life in the universe. I love that so, so much.
Let’s not forget the entire Headpool thing!
That shit is so fucking goofy and fun. Deadpool, Lady Deadpool, Headpool and Dogpool lol. And then Gwenpool. I love all that shit. Oh and Venompool, that is so dope.
The curse thing was mostly internet bullshit that was only made canon so the writers could get rid of it btw.
It adds a lot of flavor where there otherwise is none, because otherwise Deadpool's immortality is attributed just to his healing factor. Which is fine, but kind of boring.
Not related but back in the 80s they technically killed off the writer of the Fantastic 4 and so everyone in that comic and related to said comic was dead.....until literally God came back and saved him from death so he could keep writing/drawing them
when they rebooted the entire universe (because the lore just got stupidly complicated) they ended it by having deadpool kill everyone.
To memory he knew he couldn't lose because he knew he was in a comic and had the narrative on his side.
He killed Prof x by getting him to read his mind and having an existential crisis realising he was just a comic book character.
I think Cosmic Ghost Rider kicked his ass tooo?
I don't think he fights Thanos, if I remember right the Cosmic King forces Frank Castle to see flashbacks of all of the lives he could never save as the Punisher and the Ghost Rider, and amongst that is a vision of all the lives Thanos took.
Wtf The punisher becomes the ghost rider!!?
Yessir that's who's under the helm of the Cosmic Ghost Rider. Frank goes to hell, and Mephisto gives him the Spirit of Vengeance. Amazing.
King Thanos sends Cosmic Ghost Rider back in time to fight and capture Thanos (himself) when he’s younger to bring him to the end of time and help him fight The Fallen One.
Thanos #13 (the entire run was amazing)
I love how comics almost operate on some Rule 34 shit. If they exist, they have fought each other. No exceptions lol.
>God Emperor Doom
Ok, I finally figured out you guys weren't misspelling a reference to Leto II with your comment.
Ha, sadly I don't know shit about Dune. That David Lynch mess kind of turned me off from it. But I've considered reading the books a few times now.
Avoid the "prequels" by his kid, they are just fanfic.
It is reasonable that it gets discussed so much when he's defeated because Thanos is such a fucking powerhouse it is very worthy of note.
In this instance Doom had recently basically reshaped existence. He was very strong.
Did he take the beyonders powers or something?
they should have done antman's th-anus attack smh my head
Thanos was literally arrested by regular police when he accidentally dropped The Cosmic Cube: https://youtu.be/Hchfw31-K5M
Cheese and crackers!
Doom is actually problematic, like holy fuck. No wonder he never got adapted in the MCU.
He never got adapted because Marvel didn't have the movie rights. They have them now, so expect to see Doom within the next 2-3 years.
This. Doom will very likely pop up in the Kang movies. Doom is one of the big bads, and my favorite Marvel character.
Which movies are the Kang movies?
If you look up the casting for the new movies he’s been cast. My guess is Doom will show up to thwart him, and play into the upcoming movies as a sort-of anti-villain who either ends up helping the heroes or hindering them and eventually becomes the main villain after Kang. Of course Mephisto is bound to show up and some other bad guys but Kang and Doom as well as Galactus are kinda in the upper echelon.
Ant-man 3 is the only one we know for sure
My all time favorite. If they would invest the time and money into it, he's the one villain who should be the next Thanos-level threat. But they never even hinted at Latveria I don't think.
With some tweaking, what remains of Sokovia could be the new Latveria. Or should I say old Latveria. I read a fan theory once that said Sokovia's ancestral name was Latveria, and with all the turmoil between Age of Ultron and the Snap x2, it would make Doom try to restore his home to its former glory.
If they retconned that shit in it would be great, and have Doom's mother be killed after Thanos' snap but before Tony's snap therefore she was never brought back. I mean they could ignore Doom's mommy motivation, the way they did Thanos' Lady Death motivation, but I love the fact that the most intelligent badass in the universe named Victor Von Doom is at heart a gigantic mama's boy.
I haven't read too much Fantastic 4 or Doctor Doom related comics (aside from like, Old Man Logan) does anyone have any good comic recommendations to see Doom in all his glory?
First and absolute foremost; The Books of Doom. That'll give you his entire origin, and tons of insight into the character. And then for some fun wizard fuckery, a graphic novel called "Doctor Strange & Doctor Doom: Triumph and Torment." And then, for the ascension of the God Emperor, you want the Secret Wars series.
I swear to God if they adapt Dr. Doom, and properly bring the whole Doomwar series with the [whole moral dilemma on humanity's survival](https://arousinggrammar.com/2013/09/24/the-motivations-of-doctor-doom/) it would be absolutely amazing, and completely beyond Thanos' idea of being a "hero"
EDIT: All things considered what the MCU tried to do with Ultron and Thanos are a mix of different aspects of the Doomwar series, but none of them have that same overarching "humanity is slowly killing itself" vibes which we also actually have IRL
I get so overly excited when I think about prospect of them teasing Doom in the next Doctor Strange movie. Bringing Morgan Le Fay into the MCU. Finally touching on the Panther God. So much shit dude.
And if people thought it was wild to see how relatable Thanos was, they haven't seen shit until they meet Victor.
Yeah, I loved what they were able to do with the MCU, but when they removed Thanos's unrequited love of Death and traded it for his whole "Balance for the sake of the universe" shtick I felt it took away from his motivations as a villain.
Thank you so much! I'm reading through Thor's run starting from his 2012 series to his 2020 one and secret war is snuggled right up in there so this is perfect!
Secret Wars is the shit dude. God Emperor Doom, although truly ridiculously overpowered, is one of the coolest villains of all time. And what it takes to stop him is wild. I would definitely read The Books of Doom (you get all 6 of them as one purchase) before Secret Wars. Just so you know exactly who the badass Victor Von Doom really is.
If you like Thor, the definitive Thor run is when Walt Simonson was writing, from #338-#374 - its 1980's old school and glorious, drawing a lot from Norse mythology. Collected as trade paperbacks I think.
And after Secret Wars, absolutely read Infamous Iron Man.
Oh yes yes yes. Victor becoming the Iron Man is so satisfying. I would shoot gigantic ropes of cum all over a theater if that shit ever made it into movies after a long Doctor Doom run in the MCU.
I'll add that to the list thanks!
For anyone who may be confused: *Secret Wars* refers to the 2015 comic series. There is also a 1984-85 series called *Marvel Superheroes Secret Wars* that does feature Dr. Doom, but not as a God Emperor. The 84 series is a landmark for being the first big superhero crossover event, but I think most new readers would be disappointed with it.
Yeah it's really hard to recommend the old comics. Except for those who are aware of what they're getting into, and how simplistic the storytelling and artwork was. They're still classics tho.
Of course Doom would be a Mama's boy. She gave birth to Doom.
FatWS said on screen that Sokovia got gobbled up, so we know countries were fine with redrawing the map. Combined with the Snap, super easy to introduce Latveria and Doom.
Latveria used to be X and Y countries. Snap happens, people panic, people riot and loot and governments collapse. One man, a technical genius, through his iron will and fantastic technologies holds his ancestral homelands together. That man is Victor von Doom.
Why do Latverians put up with what is obviously a dictatorship? He saved them from the chaos of the Snap. They absolutely love him
That could totally work, in Falcon when Zeno showed off his wealth and mentioned "I was part of royalty until you all destroyed my country" could totally be twisted into a Doom centered story
they never hinted about Madripoor either, before FATWS
He’s the next big one for sure
How is he problematic? Like anymore than any bad guy in mcu?
And this is why I'm not a comic book guy. The one upmanship never ends.
While that image is cool, it's like those games where the power creep just never ends. Eventually, you have people smacking each other with planets.
I mean that's kind of the whole fun of it. Look at anime and JRPGs, where you have Frieza literally destroying a planet with one finger. Or highschool kids summoning demons that kill god. Doom at least has a somewhat logical progression, considering he's one of the most intelligent beings in the universe and has a peerless control of technology... on top of being an actual fucking wizard like Strange.
I'm a big fan.
I get your point. But I generally prefer media with a clear power scale. It's one of the things that makes emotional stakes more powerful. But when the top of the scale is ♾️, then it's hard to care anymore. At least for me.
I get what you're saying. By chance do you have any good examples of media you enjoyed? I always love to have more stuff on my watch list
The classic example of an OP hero who still has limits: Enter the Dragon. Bruce Lee is OP as hell, but he still gets some solid hits from the boss and has limits.
More contemporary: any Jackie Chan movie. He's great at showing powerful characters with limits. For anime, the Trigun original series is amazing.
Great examples, thanks! You're making me want to rewatch Trigun, I haven't seen that in ages
That show was just so damn good.
The power scale in Scrubs DOES seem clear so uhh.... addin' it to the watchlist....
Jd never over powers dr. Cox.
Dr. Cox never over powers kelso chief of medicine.
No one overpowers the janitor.
Jd and Turk are close in power ranking so they switch back and forth.
I get what you mean, but it doesn't really apply in this case, because in the panel in question, Doom absorbed the infinite power of a bunch of universe-annihilating aliens and became literal God, creating the entire universe they reside in. He can casually delete anything from existence with the twitch of a finger. The power scale is clear—Doom is without exception the most powerful being in all of existence at that moment in time, a fact clear to readers even before Thanos decided to be stupid and get himself killed.
That was why I finally left Bleach. It was nice when the power structure was very clear and reasonable, but then they introduced a guy whose entire power is hypnotizing everyone and there's no way to really block it, which makes him unbeatable until they introduced a plot hole
You know what, I think this is why I was never into superheroes. I always liked media based in reality or science fiction that could be somewhat relatable. The original star wars movies come to mind where even stuff like the force was supposed to be SUPER mysterious and not overly powerful like in the newer stuff.
It makes emotions and stakes higher when characters are actually relatable and can be in legitimate danger etc.
Edit: I think that's why out of all the heros out there I like batman the most. He's actually a mortal guy with really neat gadgets and stuff. Iron man is kinda like that, but with that suit he's basically another God able to fly around and shoot lasers etc
100% with you. Batman first, Iron Man second. Though I would prefer to BE iron man so I could have all the toys Batman does plus ACTUAL FREAKING AI.
Honestly most villains you think of from popular culture probably came after Doom. Doom is basically a puppet master (though there is also a literal puppet master character too). But Doom is a sorcerer (think toned down Strange) and genius intellect somewhere between Mr. Fantastic and Iron Man; and those are just his base stats. The power creep changes with whatever the particular series dilemma is, which isn’t really any different than any given hero movie.
And then it gets 'my guy is universal so he removes you from reality' 'nuhuh, my guy is multiversal so he removes your guy harder'. But yeah when you make the environment irrelevant by fighting in space and throwing each other through planets you're only losing dimensions compared to more grounded combat, where things like walls are tactical considerations not floor standing packets of confetti.
Then God Emperor Doom got comboed by [Black Panther wielding the Infinity Gauntlet](https://qph.fs.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-615564bd206906d8f6dc81c6b2bea6a1), [Reed Richard’s roasting his insecurities](https://i.redd.it/sxap4of6yty51.jpg) and [Miles Morales wielding a cheeseburger](https://pm1.narvii.com/6712/b9cf2f91addf4afac88715f9effa8edff1c9b682_hq.jpg)

Wild guess, you could say he stay sedated
What the ever living F is this from?
Spidey Super Stories from I think 1981, the panel is photoshopped though.
The actual dialogue is "don't do it" and "Fool, Doom does as he pleases".
That's disappointing to learn and I'm always amazed that there are people who've been tracking comics for so many thousands of issues that they can recall shit like this. And even if you googled it, it's because someone else did track it all and cared so much they catalogued it on the internet lol.
[yeah vol 1 #53](https://readcomiconline.li/Comic/Spidey-Super-Stories/Issue-53?id=76457#8)
