It was really cool when they found that mostly in tact one off one of the continental shelves
Hell yeah, mace-cow-lizard.
The literal embodiment of the word "living lizard tank"
Top comment, top dinosaur!
Makes you wonder what gnarly predators were around, that it evolved an entire medieval armory in response
My favourite too! I love taming them in Ark. My main one is always called Morgan... because he clears.
Is that the one with a Thagomizer for a tail?
No, that's a stegosaurus, ankylosaurus had the giant-ass club.
I can't tell you how happy it made me to see my favorite finally be the top answer. Ankylo-squad unite!
Archaeopteryx! Their fossils are fascinating.
Ooh, yes, I love this one too! (And - bonus! - it's also fun to say.)
Yeah it is!!
T REX it ain’t even a question they got them two little arms with them two claws and their big feet so they can stomp star leafs all day
Fuckin agreed! Don’t care if it’s “mainstream” still awesome
There's a reason it's mainstream
Yes! T-rex for the win!
"I have a big head, and little arms"
Still makes me laugh!
You beat me to it but stego's mah boy. Those things were basically unfuckupable.
And they have an easy-ish name to remember
Easily easier than Im\_j3r0. Stegosaurus got you whupped in the name department.
Interesting fact: the stegosaurus lived and went extinct far before the Trex was around so any time we see them depicted together is just an outrageous lie
Fun fact, the t rex is closer in time to the smartphone than the stegosaurus
Interesting fact: My favorite stegosaurus was named Lawrence and he never fought T-Rexes because he was friends with everyone
Was he a shy stegosaurus?
Nah, that was George, but they were friends
Dat Thagomizer tho.
Not the mama!
Pachycephalosaurus, other wise known as the “imma-fuckin-headbutt-yasaurus”
I’ve always said “some dinosaurs bite, some dinosaurs honk, but only one dinosaur bonks”
I think another one bonks, actually. I forgot the name but the banana-headed one
You realize that at least three dinosaurs bonked? Dracorex, Stygimoloch and Pachycephalosaurus
I had no clue when I read "Pachycephalosaurus" but “imma-fuckin-headbutt-yasaurus”, yeees!
Yeah, I’ve always been a fan of old smash dome.
Carnotaurus or Spinosaurus, definitely
Id go with the carno
Utahraptor they are actually the velociraptors for Jurassic park are based off but velo sounds cooler then Utah
It was actually deinonychus they were based off in the original novel. Utahraptor wasn’t yet discovered/described at the time of writing :)
Utahraptor wasn’t described until 1993 after JP was already done filming, so you are incorrect. It was supposed to be Deinonychus in the film. During the late 80’s Gregory S. Paul called the Deinonychus “Velociraptor antirrhopus” and that’s what Crichton used as reference material when writing Jurassic Park. That name has since been invalid.
The Utahraptor name wasn’t even a thing when the book was written and was named the same year the film was released.
Can't believe there aren't more triceratops fans out there!
It's 'cause Cera was such a brat.
Triceracops. Kung Fury's partner.
You can’t go wrong with the classics
TRUMPET DINOSAURS my fave
When I was a kid, this was the only Dino I struggled to pronounce for some reason.
Allosaurus all the way!
Like if you took a Trex and Velociraptor and they met in the middle
Deinocheirus, giant clawed danger goose that radiates Chad energy
Perfect size for snuggles
This is the one, He slaps T-Rex any day of the week. I also like dimetrodon they look pretty cute.
Top 5 in no order
And before one of you nerds says flying reptiles weren’t dinosaurs…shut up nerd!
Baryonyx, hell yeah!
But the Pteranodon isn’t a dinosaur 🤓
The "bitch u thought" dinosaur
[Jurassic Park/World series spoiler]
>!"Stopping 'that one bad guy' from escaping," since 1993.!<
Therizinosaur, with its big ass claws. Honorable mention to the stegosaurus, whos tail weapon is called a "thagomizer"
Tickle chicken for the win
This is the first time I've ever heard Therizinosaurus described as a "Tickle Chicken", and I am 100% gonna steal that term.
Yeah! But the ptsd of that thing on the island when my brother and I were noobs, uhhh
T. Rex of course. The world biggest and scariest thalidomide babies.
I just had to comment because my daughter who is 19yrs old and recently started her first job, told me the other day "Being at work sucks, no one ever asks you what your favorite dinosaur is"
I sometimes don't know what words to use so somebody told me I should get a thesaurus but I thought those died out like fifty million years ago.
The deinonychus is pretty cool
Yeah, that's also one of my favorite prehistoric creatures
Im not the only one
Amy Jo Johnson
Not a dinosaur.
Probs the triceratops. Those mf's tanking every singe dinosaur man.
Also maybe the argentinosaurus, because they are long.
Dino from the Flinstones.
The Blue Jay
Triceratops. I don’t need a reason.
Anchiornis. Basically a punk rock magpie.
T-rex with his little paw paws
Colepiocephale. They have a crazy unique head, it’s armor in spiky way. They just head butt you and then you die..
I'm gonna go with Giganotosaurus. Basically just a Tyrannosaurus Rex, but bigger and cooler.
Therizinosaur, because who doesn’t like a Turkey with wolverine claws?!
I am gonna be uncool and say Spinosaurus
How you gonna make me choose though, they're all so awesome
When I was a kid it was Diplodocus but when I got older velociraptor
For donuts that actually existed, I've always been partial to Pentaceratops (all the -topsians, actually), Stegosaurus, and Ankylosaurus. For fictional ones, I love the Dilophosaur from the first Jurassic Park.
all Ceratosaurians, especially the Triceratops
Little cliche but Tyrannosaurus Rex they look cool
Rex from toy story
Also not a dinosaur
It's pterodactyl but your spelling makes more sense
im jk i like tricerotops
This is a question i can get behind. So much rubbish being asked by so many and then this little gem pops up.
Therizinosaurus was a beast. Definitely a specimine i wouldn't want to run into on a dark night.
Deinonychus. I also have been able to spell that correctly for a damn long time.
Velociraptors, not the ones in movies, but the feathered ones because they’re super cute
Is there anybody in the world who HATES dinosaurs?
That weird cult that believes they never existed hates them...forgot what the cult is called.
Christianity that's it!
The lesbian dinosaur.
The kinds on display in the museums
Whats the dinosaur with the big club on its tail?
Hell yeah ankylosaurus goat dinosaur
T-Rex for carnivores.
Brachiosaurus or Brontosaurus for Herbivores.
Micropachycephalosaurus I always liked saying the name
The big one
VHS cassettes and player
A chonky boy, but a plant eater.
Walks on two legs, but has a beak for nibbling leaves.
Ever since I watched Jurassic park 3 as a kid I always loved a good spino
Oh man. That's a really good question.
I mean they've been gone a long time so it's really hard to pick.
But I'd have to go with B.P. Richfield.
The baby was too obnoxious.
Robby was too boring.
Charlene was too dumb.
Earl was hilarious but someone already said him.
Ethyl is a strong contender for 2nd. She really knew how to berate and belittle Earl.
Edit: I am **just now** realizing a lot of these characters are named after different things involving gas/oil/petrol.
Wow! Young me never picked this up...
Dreadnoughtus. Salads are delicious.
Chicken (because they are also dinosaurs)
The one with 500 teath
Tyrannotitan cuz he's underrated and badass!
As established amongst my friends I am the best dinosaur, so me
The micropachycephalosaurus it's like a normal pachycephalosaurus but it's really small and it's ironic because it's name is the longest dinosaur name but it's one of the smallest dinosaurs
Thank you for asking. My favorite dinosaur is the best dinosaur, and should be everyone's favorite (always surprised when he isn't!): the Stegosaurus.
Dreadnoughtus or velociraptor
Been my favorite since I got a pack of neat dino cards as a kid. Look at that long arse name! So cool! Best dino.
Yutyrannus and Allosaurus were some nasty mfs
Dino, from the Flintstones.
Every single long-necked dinosaur is my favorite, something about them is just so visually appealing and they're fun to look at.
Pterosaurs. And before anyone else jumps on me, I know that currently they aren't classified as dinosaurs, but that's more a choice than it is anything and one that I disagree with. They split from dinosaurs at about the same time as saurischians and ornithischians split apart, meaning they're about as closely related to a T-rex as a Triceratops is related to a T-rex, and if both of those can be counted as dinosaurs, then so can Pterosaurs. They have all the hallmarks of a dinosaur, including proto-feathers. The only reason they aren't considered a dinosaur is because paleontologists thought it would be handy to separate flyers from non-flyers before realizing that birds were also dinosaurs.
The domestic chicken. Both its eggs and its body are delicious.
The horny one
i like the t-rex cuz they cool
