What is your favorite song that doesn't have lyrics?
By - F1yff
Clair de Lune
I’m not much of a classical guy, and I don’t have any emotional connection to that song, but damn if it doesn’t make me feel things.
Check out Khatia Buniatishvili performing it live on YouTube. Amazing.
Couldn’t think of anything else I would answer with, amazing choice!
Clair de Lune gang rise up
Booker T and the M.G.'s, good choice
I WAS JUST GONNA FUCKIN SAY THAT that song is amazing!
I’ve always enjoyed Cliffs Of Dover by Eric Johnson.
Live at Austin is even better.
That is a good one.
It opens door in Resident Evil, of course it’s good.
Jupiter by Holst. The song is so great, we named the biggest planet in the solar system after the song.
In that case, I'll have to say Mars. It has a special place in my heart.
Mars is metal as hell
Agreed. And the first time I heard it, I thought, "wait a minute. Is that the music from the airships in Super Mario 3?"
Dang they do sound kinda the same. It’s kinda weird but with airships you count to four and with Mars you can count to five.
The first heavy metal riff, the song Black Sabbath by the band Black Sabbath, was taken from Mars
Orion for me, but your other picks are solid too
First two that came to mind were Orion and Marooned as well.
To Live is to Die
Orion is definitely in my top 5.
The Entertainer - Scott Joplin
My fave is "The Easy Winners"
I really like maple leaf rag
I really like Gladiolus Rag.
[La Villa Strangiato](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkGFwp05Ais)
Came here to say YYZ but, sure, I'll support your effort!
Axle F(oley) -- also known as the Beverly Hills Cop theme song =)
I'm not proud, I just really like it - plus, it has a super power most people don't know about...
If you ever have a song stuck in your head, singing the Axle F in your head will fix that. It's musical enough to take up the same space, complex enough to be a tune you need to think about 'singing' and complete enough to give your mind the closure it needs to let everything go.
It's a secret super power that I've now shared with you - try it out next time, you'll see!
You should be proud its a great song
Upvoted for being open about your likes.
Downvoted for getting the song stuck in my head.
Upvoted for this new superpower.
Now… how do I get this song out of my head…
most people just know it as crazy frog
This is my default ringtone, unless it's my parents calling. My Mom is MacGuyver and my Dad is the A Team.
Fun fact: The song was created by just splicing and overlaying the demo tracks from a handful of various Casio keyboards
Intro - The xx
Allman Brothers Band, In Memory of Elizabeth Reed
I like *Jessica.*
Little Martha 😬👌
Fun fact: that song was written to be played on only two guitar strings
Pretty much any Pokémon battle theme or route theme. Also, Machine Girl - Ghost
Ride of the Valkyries
Rhapsody in Blue
Vivaldi - summer in g minor
YYZ is a recording of the best sound ever made by three people.

Their music is awesome
Blue in Green - Miles Davis
[The Great Gig In The Sky](https://youtu.be/mPGv8L3a_sY) - Pink Floyd
I went and saw Roger Waters live and they opened with this song. It was an outdoor pavilion and a beautiful sunny day. One of those days that you especially appreciate.
As this woman sang, the biggest wall of black clouds rolled in. By the end of the song it was absolutely pouring rain. At this point no one cared and we all just enjoyed it and watched the show.
This was the moment I kissed my wife for the first time. I still think about that moment regularly.
Ecstasy of Gold - Ennio Morricone (rip)
Good choice! Have you heard Metallica’s cover of it?
I have not but I am immediately going to look that up!
It’s great! Specifically the recorded version on the album “We All Love Ennio Morricone”. The live versions they have with the orchestra are great, but it’s not Metallica playing.
If you ever see them live in concert, they usually start with ecstasy of gold, at least for the last 20 years or so. I think I’ve seen them 3 times in that period?
Mice on Venus by C418
Tool - Triad
A fellow member of the Tool army, I just said this one too!
Listening to that song makes you feel absolutely invincible, like you could literally just punch a hole straight through Earth - especially if you're just coming off of Disposition and Reflection.

Any color you like by Pink Floyd
Walk Don’t Run
Ballade no.4 in F minor, Chopin
40z - Polyphia :)
Robert Miles "Children." It's what I'm ice skating to in my head in my Olympic gold medal winning routine. If you've ever watched ice skating and you listen to the song you'll understand. It wouldn't be hard to imagine doing doubles, triples, spins, and skating backwards faster and faster to the music.
Thank you, I thought I'm gonna scroll through this whole thread without anyone mentioning this masterpiece.

Killing Joke - [Blue Feather](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NLjc1MqDq8&ab_channel=KillingJoke-Topic) (Dub)
Stream of Consciousness by Dream Theater. Live at the Budokan (on YouTube)

I love instrumentals, they were a staple of the Billboard Chart from the 1950s-70s, but it's hard to remember the names of so many of them because you can't sing along to the lyrics! I have a long list of favorites (and I've probably overlooked a bunch):
* Moonglow & Theme from Picnic (1956)

Gymnopedie no. 1
Whale and Wasp - Alice in Chains
Call of Ktulu is pretty great
Deadlocked by F-777
Not sure if it’s my top because there’s a bunch, but I really like Impulse by An Endless Sporadic and Arithmophobia by Animals as Leaders
Either Expurgation (FNF) or Bonetrousle (Undertale)
Beethoven's 6th Symphony (you know, from Fantasia).
The Imperial March
Megalovania or any other Undertale song
The Gravity Falls and ATLA themes
"He's a Pirate" from Pirates of the Caribbean
And any relaxing piano music
Brian Eno - The Big Ship
'no lyrics' applies pretty broadly to the most of the entire genres of jazz and classical, so i'd say something in there
Any lofi hip hop song for a rainy day or studying.
Ocarina of Time's Kakariko Village without a doubt. Brings back some of my happiest childhood memories.
"Untitled #7 - Sigur Ros," if that counts. There are lyrics, but they're in a made up language.
If that doesn't count, then "Crow - Forrest Swords," would be my pick
> Besides Du Hast by Rammstein and 99 Luftballons, I can't think of anything not sung in English that made it onto the radio in my lifetime.
Gagnam style. You're welcome.
