People who use Cyrillic, what's your opinion on faux Cyrillic?

I ТНIИК IТ'Ѕ ДIЅЯЕЅРЕКТFЦЬ in a way, but westerners gonna western.
That hurt me
Dunno about Cyrillic but we have the same thing with Greek. Some of my favourites are [Grkskscks](https://i.imgur.com/BDIvQON.png) and [COME LND TLKE, MTHLTHP LABS](https://i.imgur.com/0KLTRmZ.jpg). Also whenever I watch a vid on greek history there's a pretty high chance I'll see some butchered way to use the Greek alphabet like that.
The use of Λ for A and Σ for E triggers my brain
Or when they use eta for h...
I swear i become temporarily illiterate with some of those I hate that shit r/grssk

I don’t really have anything against it. It’s just weird to read
I think it's a bit annoying and tiresome. But I mostly just sigh and move on with my life.
Why is it annoying? You can't expect from a regular Swede or a German to know Cyrillic characters.
When it is meant to be funny, it's like a tired joke you have heard for the eleventh time.
When it is part of something "serious" with a certain aesthetic, it is hard to take it seriously and just looks stupid, uneducated and something a ninth-grader thought looked cool.
Granted, there are far worse things in the world and it's nothing I will lose sleep over.
but I can expect them to look it up, it's 21st not 12th century
And writing it this way is most certainly gonna help in them learning it?
Your reasoning beggars belief.
And why should a common Westerner learn Cyrillic in the first place? :) A serious question, also my first comment, but all I get is a downvote by a bunch of ignoramuses or jingoists.
Why use it in a fake way if not bothered to learn what it means?
Man, it functions as a meme, a certain tropy or a thing within pop culture. No one uses it for "serious" purposes.
Not a fan of it. Particularly hate stylised vodka posters looking all “Russki” and then using “I” and and “ya” in the advertising
Someone once said if they wanted to do it to Bulgaria they'd write it Ъulgaria and just pronouncing it that way is hilarious. UUUHHHHL-garia
The same thing I think about using the Greek alphabet wrongly - It is lazy and idiotic. Seriously you can simply make a font for Latin script that resembles some popular font used in Cyrillic Russian and have the same effect without ending up with some abomination such as this, not to mention that looking up letters is literary a click away (e.g. [https://www.lexilogos.com/keyboard/ipa.htm](https://www.lexilogos.com/keyboard/ipa.htm)). It is like those tattoos with Chinese letters that are supposed to mean "bravery" or something similar but end up meaning "I strangle my rooster while watching old people brushing their removable teeth" or something... Not to mention that there is also an underline tone full of mocking the script itself because it is often deemed backwards by the west, since, you know, the casual nazism that is completely ok there for whatever reason, as long as it is wrapped up properly, with a fake smile and in a freshly ironed suit.

Good Lštšfum Hunting
Not to mention that Ш + Т = Щ, but hey...
I hate it with a passion
I think it's pretty fucking retarded
It always confuse me at first, because I start reading it like Cyrillic and realize is in English afterwards.
I get it, but its kinda gross

A lot of the “squatting Slavs” and faux Cyrillic stuff here in the USA is annoying as shit. They treat cultures like circuses and theme parks and will more often then not define entire cultures via stereotypes. What’s worse is that other Slav immigrants here in the US partake in it not knowing they are laughing at them not with them.
Agree 100%. The "Slav squatting" shit makes even less sense for South Slavs and yet I have such friends who entertain the stereotypes to crack a joke around others
It's dumb as hell and ther is no reason to use it
Latin is the shit tbh.
What’s faux Cyrillic?
Alright what I read from it, it’s bloody stupid, why is this a thing?
И тхинк ит'с фунну. I see it as a joke, I have no problem with it.

Man idk how to get an image URL on mobile but look up “Serbian Heroic Songs” on google images the album cover is a pretty egregious example
I love Heyafic Sfpds!
Kinda annoying but eh I get the gimmick
I hate it and it's very disrespectful. I personally don't like to use cyrillic very much, even though Latin script isn't official in my country.
And it's weird for me to read it like westerners intended to.
It's kinda funny, I don't take any offense
its kinda shitty
