Brooklyn nine nine or bobs burgers

SackclothTuxedo

Corner Gas.

Throwaway16399337

Fellow Canadian who watched Corner Gas instead of cartoons on Saturday morning when growing up?

eavesdroppingonlife

Have you seen the Bob’s Burgers movie? I was pleasantly surprised, I watched it on Disney + and it’s going to go on my list of shows to ‘comfort’ watch.

OneDogcom23pew

Seen it and was very surprised but I liked it

briglio

Ted lasso

Cherry___Popper

I love Modern Family because of the lack of laugh tracks. They give me a lot of anxiety so I enjoy the calmness with the comedy.

GiveMeAllYourDogs

I also cannot handle laugh tracks. They sound like nails on a chalkboard to me.

SamboTheGr8

The camera movement in modern family gives me anxiety and motion sickness

UnbearablyAlive

trailer park boys/ king of the hill!!

hegrillin

also my two go-tos

wateryeyes97

I love King of The Hill! It’s such an underrated show!

UnderstatedEssence

You may like Schitt's Creek. There are also a ton of episodes of Bob's Burgers which is chill and funny :)

sarasmile321

Ha those are my two go to shows! Always helps me calm down.

bethiwl

I just sang Schitt’s creek’s praises too! Such a good series and massively helps me relax ☺️

90sBojack

Schitt's Creek has gotten me through the worsts moments. Especially [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLXT76m_880) David and Patrick Love Story compilation video on Youtube. Also, the song, [Simply the Best](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GC5E8ie2pdM) is a life saver. Oh, and Big Mouth is great too. A mix of Sex Education and a coming of age story.

UnderstatedEssence

I love David and Patrick! Patrick's acoustic version of Simply the Best makes me tear up every time I watch, it's so beautiful. Big Mouth is hilarious! I get a little tired of the excessive raunchy humor after a few episodes and need a break though lol not a binge show for me.

Fantastic-Land-3207

Great British baking show!!

OldClocksRock

The beautiful park setting with the flowers and all are lovely as well. I went through a very bad illness a few years ago and watching this show kept me sane. I forgot to add there is another show called Repair Shop. It’s in Netflix I believe and amazing as well. Very relaxing and fascinating to watch.

themarchine

Yes! The kindness of everyone, especially when something goes wrong or someone's running out of time is so sweet. It is so much better an the plethora of American style cutthroat show (though cutthroat kitchen is sometimes funny to watch just because of the sabotages)

corkspa

Same! I fall asleep to it almost every night. And thanks to a bad memory, I can never remember who wins/goes home what episode, lol. I just wish we had the rest of the episodes on Netflix.

unwell34

Yeeeeesssss! I just commented and totally forgot this show. I love watching this one. Everyone is so nice.

0uterspacemind

The Office, Great British Baking Show, Schitts Creek, New Girl, Gilmore Girls, and Superstore

WeezySan

In 2013 I played the office dvds for at least a year straight. Went to bed with it playing. That dvd intro would play over and over all night. It was comforting. Have a warm place in my heart for Steve Carrell. The whole gang.

0uterspacemind

The comedy is just so good and everyone has the purest hearts. So good.

ADeerableBeau

The Good Place, or Community!

Euphoric_Owl152

Loveeeee the good place

maddiekapteyn

Can’t recommend community enough!!!

Natural_Data9407

Troy and Abed in the moooorrrrrnnnning!

justbreathe5678

Nights!

SubconsciousAlien

Seinfeld. But I also recommend Trailer Park Boys. The whole atmosphere and ambience of the show has kind of a “Chicken Soup when sick” kinda feel to it.

[deleted]

such a feel good show.

SubconsciousAlien

Word.

Queen-Of-Farts

Seinfeld is 100% my comfort show to binge. And they've been playing so many reruns lately!

kohitown

Gilmore Girls is a favorite comfort show of mine!

NuggieInASnuggie

I'm watching it for the first time rn and it's quickly becoming a comfort show for me. The vibes are just so cozy :)

Important_Owl_7188

Mine too!!!

fifipol

i watched a bit of it and stopped, what do you like about it? im thinking about continuing it

Mysfunction

Psych. If you’ve never seen it, you need to watch. It’s lighthearted and funny and great for picking up your mood.

fart-b0y

you can also look for the pineapple

Mysfunction

Definitely! I recently found the rewatch podcast that Tim/Lassiter and Maggie/O’Hara are doing (the psychologists are in) and have been thoroughly enjoying it.

unpromising_yngwoman

I was looking for someone who commented this! It’s my all time favourite show, and no one around me knows it!

Iron_soul_I_be

How it’s Made, Bobs Burgers, Family Guy or Adventure time are my usual go to’s. Futurama, King of the Hill and the movie Airplane are good back ups.

WeFamilyNow

Frasier is my all-time favorite comfort show. I did recently fall in love with The Bear and watched the full season 4 times in one weekend because I was too depressed to do anything else, haha.

redd142

I hope the depression from that weekend has gotten better. You are not alone in this world, friend.

WeFamilyNow

I am fortunate enough to have overcome that particular bout of depression. It’s so kind of you to leave that comment, thank you. 💚

tomhxrdy

I have been watching Frasier as my “bedtime show” for two years now. Think I’ve been through the whole series like 6 times. Just started it over last night 😂

WeFamilyNow

It’s just so cozy, isn’t it? ☺️ Sounds like you belong to r/Frasier_Sleepers!

tomhxrdy

Amazing!!

Ok_Block9547

Love Frasier even though it was before my time. It’s funny, and the comedic timing is good, even with the laugh track.

ASMRbartender

Trailer park boys is funny but strangely relaxing to me

[deleted]

the casual craziness of their life's is truly goals. wish i could just be oblivious to the real world sometimes.

xxchocxx

The Simpsons and Parks and Recreation are my usual favourites.

OneDogcom23pew

I die laughing at parks and rec

DueDelivery

Im surprised. I always felt like there was a hugely negative cynical undercurrent in the simpsons. If i was anxious i cud see myself spiraling just from that lol

Emergency_Music_2969

I mean yes but personally I find the cynicism strangely comforting? Like oh good it's not just me.

DueDelivery

It makes light of it which can be comforting

xxchocxx

Maybe there is, masked in sarcasm, but I find that it often helps to remind me to not take life too seriously. It often just gives me a kick back to reality - in a gentle way

tinydancer_inurhand

Just finished a parks and rec rewatch so good.

joobafob

Peep Show. A bit depressing, but weirdly comforting and cosy.

Maleficent_Damage169

Finally someone said Peep Show! Me and my husband love it so much we can quote any moment from any episode and rewatched all series dozens of times! I love them for so many years now, they’ve been with me through everything 🙃

sl212190

Alright cleanshirt

Visual_Egg_6091

Can I have some of your coke???!!!

invertednose

Grey's Anatomy is kind of terrible (especially the later seasons) but it's comforting to me and keeps my attention

[deleted]

my sister and mother watch it im gonna join them next time. it does seem intense at times.

Mysfunction

I wouldn’t recommend it when you’re feeling down, because it definitely jerks your emotions around, but it’s definitely an entertaining show.

criticalistics_car

Top gear or grand tour does the trick, 3 friends doing stupid stuff with cars always gets my in the mood to grab 2 other friends and do stupid stuff with cars.

[deleted]

fuck yeah

GENERALR0SE

If you haven't watched "Long Way Round/Down/Up", do it. It's Ewan McGregor and his friend riding motorcycles through some incredibly difficult terrain and distances.

Dizzy-Improvement100

Big mouth and the vampire diaries (only till like season 6 tho).

peacefulwarrior2022

Big mouth 😂💛

Dizzy-Improvement100

I’ve seen it like 50 times. I’ve gone through so much and it used to be my absolute favorite comfort show. I would just constantly rewatch. I hope more seasons come😆

peacefulwarrior2022

Yeah me too that show is great

m3lrose

Surprised I haven’t seen Brooklyn 99 here. Great cast and the cold opens always make me laugh! Really good light hearted happy TV.

worldwidefunnygui

Psych!

justamess345

new girl!!!

hams-and-buns

Brooklyn 99. Wonderful comfort characters, diversity, no laugh track and it’s genuinely hilarious without being annoying. It only gets better as the episodes go on, and the character development is great.

jesus-says-fuck-you

Community always makes me laugh.

mizurisana

Friends

Keoghconut

Rick and Morty

mooman-bean

I love Doctor Who, mainly because I've watched it so many times that I know every storyline by heart, so I know there are no surprises - knowing exactly what will happen is reassuring.

penguinsrcoolaf

I've just binged watched Escaping polygamy on Amazon. Its amazing. So uplifting to see these youngish girls, not only escape but help others leave too. Left me warm & fuzzy. Definitely recommend. Tho there are references to sexual abuse so if that's triggers u maybe not.

Wondergirl91

Adventure Time + Steven Universe

unpromising_yngwoman

Steven Universe is so beautiful and heart warming! Also Avatar the last air bender

berensona

Eric Andre show

[deleted]

1000% recommend

[deleted]

rahhumilovedogs

Gotta make some spapeggy n meatballs while watching lol

UnbearablyAlive

rahhumilovedogs

That's actually pretty dang good

[deleted]

Futurama has made me cry so many times lol 😂 but it got emotion out which is a good thing

[deleted]

better out than in

[deleted]

Exactly lol 😂😂😂

kenny00111

LOTR

Weatherbunny7

The Office, Jane the Virgin, Gilmore Girls (until the whole drop-out-of-college drama) are my go tos right now.

Pengaween

My comfort movies are Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Howl's Moving Castle, Megamind, and Laura. For tv shows it's Golden Girls, Quantum Leap, Pickle and Peanut, and Always Sunny.

CelinaAMK

Are you watching the new quantum leap that just started? Is it any good?

KarlMarxButVegan

I love both versions of Pride and Prejudice. North and South (2004) is similar and great.

Bigbootygoth_girl

Love howls

[deleted]

iasip is just so damn funny. i turn it on when im going to bed. ill check out the others thanks for the reply

mjjszonya

Its not for getting you into a better mood, but you should once watch Dead Ports Society and The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, they really are something

AwfulFireKeeper

Bob's burgers and Gilmore Girls.

lemonryker

Pride and Prejudice (2005)

definitely_not_maria

One of my favorites when I'm feeling "blah"

VanillaApplesaws

The office

Kikie3

The Office. Always the office.

ambivert_individual

Modern family, Brooklyn 99, Saiki K

Cerununnos

walking with dinosaurs. It’s my go to for when I’m sick at home lol. I’m not a huge dinosaur fan, but it’s become a tradition. Otherwise I like to rewatch Balto and Spirit the stallion of cimarron. There’s just something about childhood movies that still hold up to scrutiny that’s incredibly comforting.

torterra_trainer95

Star Trek voyager for me, it’s my happy place show I will watch every few years or so

Annonymouse911318

Arrested Development

Useful-Report-1617

Modern family is my top one comfort show

Roughcast

I watch Brad Mondo's hairdressing videos on YouTube, he is so sunny and sweet, he always makes me smile. Try him out and see if you find the same. If not, if you find him annoying, will, it was worth a go.

thinkjar_ray

FLEABAG GIVES ME LIFE!!!!! watch it if you haven't, I relate to the main character. makes me feel human.

MomentOptimal

New girl

TimJoeJim

Superstore, It’s Always Sunny, & now Abbott Elementary.

JeffJim-Jeff

Brooklyn 99 is my Personal go to

peacefulwarrior2022

So good 😂

Karamas658

Schitt's Creek

Titanium_Ninja

I really recommend Superstore or Brooklyn Nine Nine. Both shows are cheerful and help keep my mood up

FenderVox13

Malcolm in the middle or King of the hill does it for me. If I want to feel motivated I watch Cobra Kai

Pale_Piccolo_7433

Jersey shore

Natural_Data9407

This was a trashy guilty pleasure for quite some time. Reality House is pretty entertaining too. Philion’s commentary on the Reality House episodes is hilarious (YouTube).

shaarkbaiit

Bluey lol

randomlypointless

I have been introduced to this because I have a young kid. Bluey is amazingly succinct and good feeling, and genuinely funny

hams-and-buns

Unsolved by Shane Madej and Ryan Bergara is an absolutely hilarious YouTube true crime show. Their banter is amazing, and the videos are very well made. They also have supernatural ghost hunting videos, where one is completely convinced they’re real, while the other thinks everything is bullshit. Makes for a wonderful dynamic.

Asparagus__lover

YESS I love watching them!

CelinaAMK

I just discovered this not long ago I agree they’re really good

MrSamsonite

Different vibes than whats been suggested, but stuff like Planet Earth can be really calming.

EnsignEmber

Avatar: the last airbender lol

open_sinner

M\*A\*S\*H 11 seasons of pure joy and still holds up after 50 years, good writing and always makes me laugh. there's a lot of military jargon and no shortage of drama and violence, but the characters are well written and their growth is believable and consistent. ETA- i will also never get tired of seeing corporal Klinger in a dress and everyone just rolling with it.

elfshimmer

This is also my go to. You can dip in and out of episodes without needing to follow the whole storyline k and then cherry pick which episodes to watch depending on your mood once you've seen the show 50 times), its calming and just lets you escape the world for 25 minutes. Love this show!

DSteep

Community is my comfort show, I must have seen it 10 times over by now.

TheRainymaker108

How I met your Mother, Friends and occasionally B99

JewelerCompetitive26

Every time I have Broad City on, my boyfriend says “ah, you’re having an anxiety attack, huh?” Seinfeld, Impractical Jokers, and Rock Of Love as well 😂

kyrsten07

America’s funniest video. It not only helps me but my kids think it’s hilarious and that laughter on a bad day helps everything!

spankthegoodgirl

The OA always brings me great comfort. It's on Netflix

astwig

It's sooo good. I desperately need them to finish it😭😭😭

ell_fin

Psych. That will always be my go to show

brnewmeg

Golden Girls always and forever!

Elysie_1930

Somebody Feed Phil. It’s a travel eating show with a very wholesome man. This is my husband and I’s favorite pick me up show. Saved us many times from the grey clouds.

kurtvonnecat_

Have you seen “The Good Place” yet? All 4 seasons are on Netflix. It’s packed with so many jokes and keeps you engaged so it’s very easy to help get you get out of a funk. On the same note, Forgetting Sarah Marshall is my favorite movie ever for some of the same reasons. Hope this helps:)

rahhumilovedogs

I watch stuff in YouTube but king of the hill is strangely calming

Few_Falcon_9150

the Disney Christopher Robin movie!!! it’s the live action version. ultimate comfort movie for me. also watching new girl or how I met your mother.

hegrillin

i love always sunny, but sometimes it does make my anxiety worse lol

Ducksattack94

I love watching the golden girls or American dad on a rough day. Both shows are very comforting to me.

nuncasiempre

I watch Studio Ghibli movies, mainly Kiki's Delivery Service, My Neighbor Totoro, or Ponyo when I'm feeling low. I also watch other movies I enjoyed as a kid/teen - something funny, entertaining, cute, evoking nastalgia. Just nothing too thought-provoking or heavy in subject matter.

lauslauslauslaus

Gilmore Girls!

soapyrubberduck

I like stuff like Planet Earth and Chef’s Table. Aesthetically pleasing shots, soothing, and a tiny bit boring to help calm down

CBRadioCB

A documentary called The Truffle Hunters. Very wholesome film about elderly Italian men who hunt for truffles with their dogs. Very Wes Anderson-esque and just nice to watch.

Important_Owl_7188

Gilmore girls, how I met your mother

imagination-station

I love crime shows especially Criminal Minds, Law and Order SVU and Castle. I also like Disney movies and Studio Ghibli movies.

ttrash_

oh man i’ve watch it’s always sunny back to back maybe 3 times? between that and arrested development. really puts my mind to ease!

[deleted]

facts. both have that calming effect even tho its wild. its always sunny intro song alone calms me a little

lar_yeet

secretbabe77777

Broad City

DiscombobulatedSir11

Broad City, Workaholics, Schitt’s Creek, Ted Lasso

unsgmeow

New Girl or Modern Family

bethiwl

Schitts creek deserves a mention here! Wholesome, funny and amazing character development. Honestly one of the best series I’ve ever watched - maybe the best.

Mindless-Sherbert-18

Yes i agree. Something about it makes me always feel like im safe. Also if u remember this old show called Providence. Modern Family. Friends. 90 day fiance and 600 pound life

Much_Concentrate_411

Animals docs are the best, David Attenborough is good at narrating so well u forget ur at home n is there with the animals.

CariaCato

Sponge Bob

thiccytt

Impractical Jokers. It’s not for everyone but it makes me laugh hard

meggles5643

Food ones honestly. There's also this one with very little speaking it's very ASMRy " Lee Ziqui " it's tranquil, this lady (chinese I think?) Is making traditional.chinese food and stuff. I love it when I'm trying to sleep and have had a rough day or week and just need peaceful themes. I just watched Bee and the Puppy cat (the Netflix English version) and I liked it. Then just other non competition food/cooking shows. Welll "Nailed It" is a competition kind of but it's good. ^.^

yourgirlmulan

Bobs burgers, cute and funny

wateryeyes97

I really like The Simpsons (probably my number one comfort show because it reminds me of childhood and always can make me laugh, though I’ve seen the first sixteen seasons so many times), Bob’s Burgers, Home Movies (same creator as Bob’s Burgers), SpongeBob SquarePants (childhood again) almost any Peanuts special (childhood), any Queen concert, a documentary on something I find interesting (reminds me that there are bigger, more important things than anxiety) the movies: Clerks, Inside by Bo Burnham, The Graduate and The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Kreeturefeature

For comedy, Seinfeld and That 70s Show always make me laugh when I'm down. I also enjoy horror movies, and I recommend a new doc series on Shudder called The 101 Scariest Horror Movie Moments. I hope you feel better!

[deleted]

thank you, that 70s show is pretty damn good

GENERALR0SE

Danny Masterson being in it has kind of made it age like milk for me

AFNE1997

news radio and parks and rec always calm me down at least a little!

Bigbootygoth_girl

American dad is my sleep show. I like horror too. Hereditary, suspiria, I just watched incantation on Netflix. All good. I love sunny, Key and peele, Rick and morty, Brooklyn nine nine and broad city.

[deleted]

thanks for the suggestions. forgot about key and peele

ringpull83Tizer

The Detectorists. Free on BBC IPlayer. Funny and cleverly written.

People cooking on YT. Crazy MF's in Pakistan wearing sandals while handling dangerous equipment on YT. I tend to be more music for anxiety then video though, I can't concentrate when im anxious.
